It’s been a while since we got a new One Piece Chapter, especially with the hiatus and the concerns regarding Mangaka Eiichiro Oda’s health. But worry not, we are going to discuss some potential plot points as revealed in One Piece Chapter 0: Strong World! and One Piece 1132 fan theories on the arrival of Shiki – the Golden Lion on Elbaf Island. There is so much to cover so let’s dive right in!
What happened in One Piece Chapter 1131?
One Piece Chapter 1131 revolved around the Straw Hats’ adventure at Elbaf. Luffy is in the underworld, a prison-like area designated for criminals, where he interacts with Loki bound in sea-stone chains. After an initial altercation, the latter offers Luffy information on Shanks if he frees him from his shackles. Road chases the Strawhats consisting of Zoro, Sanji, Usopp, and Nami. They decide to run until they reach Elbaf village because they consider the possibility that Road might be a friend of Dorry and Brogy.
The Strawhats with the Giant Warrior Pirates meanwhile preparing to set foot on Elbaf finally, Robin being the most excited. She even got a new hairstyle, courtesy of Brook, in anticipation of meeting Saul. The chapter ends on a note of suspense as it is revealed that Saul has collapsed and is unable to get up.
Shiki vs Roger Pirates
One Piece Chapter 0: Strong World takes us back 22 years from the present with the Battle of Ed War. Gol D. Roger was at his peak with his health deteriorating. Shiki, the Golden Lion had the largest fleet in the world at that time. It can be surmised that this battle was fought after the Roger Pirates went to Laugh Tale. This is because Shiki wanted to utilize Roger’s knowledge about the weapon that could destroy the world along with his massive pirate fleet, deemed the largest at that time. This would ensure an alliance that would have the capacity to dominate the entire world.
However, Roger had no interest in ruling over other people as that would curtail his freedom. On two opposite ends of the spectrum, the legendary pirates clashed with Roger escaping due to bad weather conditions and Shiki losing half of his fleet. The duel was considered a draw at the end of the day.
Shiki’s Escape from Impel Down in One Piece Chapter 0: Strong World
2 years after the Battle of Ed War, it is revealed that Gol D Roger has been captured and sentenced to death at Logue Town, in East Blue. Considered the weakest of the seas, Shiki is insulted by this development as it would tarnish the name of Roger. He launches an attack at Marineford and combats Garp and Sengoku at the same time. The fight resulted in him being eventually captured and imprisoned at Impel Down.
However, soon after his capture , Shiki did the unthinkable. He cut off both his feet which housed the sea-stone shackles and thus managed to escape! One Piece Chapter 0: Strong World sets up the backstory for Shiki quite effectively which may potentially imply that the Golden Lion will have a part to play in the Elbaf Arc!
Shiki’s devious 20-year plan in One Piece Chapter 0: Strong World
One Piece Chapter 0: Strong World potentially reveal Shiki’s whereabouts since his escape from Impel Down. He visited Edward “Whitebeard” Newgate to convince him to become the king of pirates. One of Shiki’s main preoccupations is to try and shape the course of pirate history and piracy at large. Fuelled by this motivation, he visits Merview, a mountain island on the Grandline, where Dr. Indigo is conducting an experiment for him. They discuss how long “it” would take and it is revealed that Shiki would wait 20 years for his plan to finally come to fruition.
What does this mean for the Strawhats?
It can be surmised that the drinking silhouette shown to be on Elbaf in One Piece 1132 spoilers when the Strawhats were traveling by ship towards the island, is Shiki – The Golden Lion.
One Piece content creator @writingpanini presented a fan theory to confirm the correlation. This means that Shiki’s plan which has something to do with the balance between animals and plants, is going to be utilized at Elbaf. The island is already riddled with major players like the Strawhat Pirates, the Giant Warrior Pirates, the New Giant Warrior Pirates, and Loki. With the discovery of the final road poneglyph imminent, it is natural for Shiki to be positioned at such a strategic position as it would allow him to gather the coordinates of Laugh Tale himself! This means that Luffy might have to take on Shiki in the future.
