Shueishaโs Manga Plus had its 6th Anniversary on January 28, 2025. On that occasion, the manga platform announced a two-part interview series with popular mangaka. The first part of the series was released on January 28, 2025, and the second part was released on February 4, 2025, at 12:00 AM (JST). The second part of the interview series featured an exclusive interview with Dandadan creator Yukinobu Tatsu. One of the interesting things in the interview was the mangaka comparing Momo Ayase to the popular superhero Superman from DC Comics.
Dandadanโs Momo Ayase Earns The Superman Status
Manga Plusโ 6th Anniversaryโs second part of the interview series featured an exclusive interview with Yukinobu Tatsu. During that interview, the mangaka was asked about which character he was fond of. He said Momo Ayase. Tatsu also said that, like Superman, Momo also helps people. While both of them have superpowers, they do not use them to hurt other people.
Another thing that he mentioned was that they inspire everyone in the face of violence and injustice and provide them with courage. It motivates them to go up against evil and stand face-to-face with it. Everything about Momo Ayase, including her words and actions, resembles the DC Comics superhero.

Yukinobu Tatsuโs Interview Had Multiple Exciting Views
Yukinobu Tatsuโs interview has several interesting points that the fans would readily enjoy. During the interview, he was asked about his memorable moment while creating Dandadan. He told Manga Plus that the cow abduction scene by the UFO was one of his most memorable moments. When asked about the work environment, he said that after COVID-19, all of his assistants work remotely. So, he spends his time drawing alone.
Tatsu sensei creates every chapter of Dandadan with โEntertainmentโ in his mind. He wishes to entertain the fans to their very core. The mangaka spends a lot of time exploring Japanese folklore and culture to implement it in his magnum opus to make it more realistic. Lastly, when asked about the continuous flow of Dandadan and the aspects that he focuses on while creating the chapters, he answered that he tries to reflect the modern social issues in his creation. He always stays true to his ideas, and that goes for the character development of the protagonists and yokai, too.
