The One Piece manga is currently focusing on the Elbaf arc, with the final war knocking on the door. Chapter 1146 was released on April 20, 2025, and revealed that the Straw Hat Pirates and the Giants have started exchanging blows with the God’s Knights. Gunko mentioned that a major war would happen, and to ensure the victory of the World Government, the Giant Kids would be taken as hostages.
The Giants of Elbaf are a powerful bunch, and blackmailing them is the only way to make them join their side. While all this information was getting unveiled, Gunko also showcased her Arrow-Arrow Devil Fruit’s abilities. It was noticeable that her abilities were similar to the popular card game Uno, resembling the Reverse Card from the deck.
Uno May Have Been The Inspiration Behind Gunko’s Devil Fruit Ability
The Arrow-Arrow no Mi is a deadly Devil Fruit that launches arrows toward the targets of the user’s choice, leading to fatal injuries. In One Piece chapter 1146, Gunko’s abilities were explored a bit more when she faced Nami, Usopp, and Jinbei. After Nami used Zeus’ Thunder Tempo and Usopp launched a projectile attack on her, Gunko used her arrows to target the duo. The properties of the attack were similar to the Reverse Card from Uno. The Reverse Card can turn the game around.
So, after the Straw Hat Pirates attacked her, she kind of used the Reverse Card to return blows to them. Eiichiro Oda is seen to get inspired by several things, and this time, it might be the popular card game. At the moment, it is just speculation, but the resemblance between the two is uncanny. Also, the Reverse Card has two arrows drawn on it, which is also similar to Gunko’s abilities.

One Piece Ch. 1146 Revealed Gunko’s Regeneration Abilities
During the Egghead arc, it was seen that Saint Jaygarcia Saturn had regeneration abilities, and likewise, all the other Gorosei possessed the same ability. It was thought that their ability was limited only to them since they sat at the pinnacle of the World Government, and only Imu-sama was above them.
However, One Piece chapter 1146 revealed that Gunko has the same ability. When Usopp blasted her torso away, she started regenerating and ended up being her former self as if nothing had happened, launching her arrows toward them. It was also mentioned that the God’s Knights are above Celestial Dragons, which might be a reason why they possessed the ability.
Considering her position, all the other God’s Knights, like Killingham, Shamrock, Sommers, etc., might also possess the same ability. The regeneration ability makes them extremely strong because they can practically recover from any injury, making the opponent’s attacks meaningless.
