Jewelry Bonney has one of the most unique Devil Fruits in One Piece. The Devil Fruit is named Age-Age Fruit (Japanese: Toshi Toshi no Mi), and its power was first showcased during the Sabaody Archipelago arc. Everyone was quite fascinated to see that a Devil Fruit could reverse a personโ€™s age or vice versa. However, at that point, its name was not revealed, and it took more than 15 years for Eiichiro Oda to reveal its name, resulting in the longest gap between its introduction and naming.

Apart from the distortion of age, the Age-Age Fruit has several other abilities that make it so potent. Unfortunately, while most Devil Fruits (even SMILE) are consumed by eating them, Jewelry Bonney did not consume the Age-Age Fruit to gain its power.

How Did Jewelry Bonney Receive The Age-Age Fruitโ€™s Powers?

During Kumaโ€™s flashback, it was revealed that Ginny was abducted by the World Nobles and forced into marriage with one of them. It was a ploy to do experiments on her, and somehow she ended up being pregnant with Bonney during that time. Saint Jaygarcia Saturn, who was the Warrior God of Science and Defence, experimented on infants to see whether they could have Devil Fruit abilities through an extract of the fruit. After Bonneyโ€™s birth, Saturn performed the same experiment on her, and unlike his other test subjects, it was a success. So, Jewelry Bonney became the owner of the Age-Age Fruit from a very young age.

What Are Age-Age Fruit’s Abilities?

As showcased by Jewelry Bonney, the Age-Age Fruit possesses numerous abilities beyond simply changing oneโ€™s age. The ability can also be used on objects, making them wither away, similar to the concept of rusting. She can use the ability not only on others but also on herself. While it comes as a shock to many, Jewelry Bonney is twelve years old, but with her Devil Fruitโ€™s abilities, she transformed into a teenager. She can use projectile weapons like a pistol, with her Devil Fruit abilities imbued in its bullets. When it hits someone, they rapidly age and turn into a skeleton before reverting back to their normal form, leaving them with a near-death experience and trauma.

One of her most powerful abilities is Distorted Future, where she imagines herself as a future form of a different being, and her body changes accordingly. She was seen to become as large as Bartholomew Kuma, changing her physique to that of a giant, and even mimicking Monkey D. Luffyโ€™s Awakened Form. In her case, the aura is pink, unlike Luffy, who is white. When used strategically, the Age-Age Fruit is one of the most powerful Devil Fruits in One Piece, and the fact that it was safeguarded by the Gorosei further highlights its significance.
