Dan Da Dan commenced on a horrifically funny note, with the protagonist, Ken Takakura, getting possessed by a Yokai named Turbo Granny. Turbo Granny hid in his balls while attempting to survive an exorcism. In the process, Takakura was stripped of his balls by Granny Turbo. Since Turbo Granny is a Yokai, the balls (or kintama in Japanese) turned Golden, earning the title of Golden Ball.
While Takakura recovered one of them with Aira Shiratori, Momo Ayase, Seiko Ayase, and Turbo Granny’s help. For a long time, the group has been searching for the other one while fighting against other Yokai. However, the group has finally got their first lead in a long time, with Dan Da Dan Season 2’s climax trailer revealing a glimpse of the second Golden Ball.

The Search For The Second Golden Ball Begins
Crunchyroll released the official trailer for Dan Da Dan Season 2’s climax, and it had some major spoilers. While it introduced the final antagonist of the season and a new character, the most exciting part was teased in between when it showcased the missing Golden Ball of Ken Takakura. Momo Ayase found an image on her friend Kei’s phone, which she referred to as the Golden Ball – the Apartment Complex Ghost, believing that it possessed Jiji.
There is a separate group chat where people were discussing the Golden Ball, which shocked Momo when she saw the image of the Golden Ball on Miko’s phone. Ken Takakura, popularly known as Okarun, saw his second Golden Ball on camera and, along with Momo Ayase, went to search for it. The Golden Ball was shown levitating in the corridors of an apartment.
When Momo and Okarun went to the spot, they encountered the Golden Ball, but it remains unknown whether they recovered it or not. The trailer featured Okarun in his Turbo Granny form getting pushed by it, since it also possesses Turbo Granny’s energy. Every time he got near, it escaped his grasp by dodging all of Okarun’s moves. The duo was aided by Kinta Sakata, who is yet to make his anime debut.
Is The Apartment Complex Ghost The Second Golden Ball?
While the common people thought the shiny flying ball to be the Apartment Complex Ghost, Momo Ayase and Okarun determined that it was the latter’s missing second Golden Ball. The second Golden Ball had been missing for a long time, and when the duo encountered it, they were overwhelmed by it. With Kinta Sakata’s help, they learned that the Golden Ball formed the core of an invisible Kaiju.
The Kaiju was just the outer skin, and an alien named Bamora was controlling it from within. Bamora came to Earth to find a worthy husband, and found it in Okarun. Unfortunately, the latter was left disappointed upon learning that the supposed Apartment Complex Ghost is not the second Golden Ball. Turbo Granny revealed that the core was just a manifestation of human karma.

Will Okarun Ever Find The Second Golden Ball?
Yes, Okarun will find the second Golden Ball, completing the most-awaited reunion of his balls. However, it won’t happen soon, and the fans will have to wait for some time. The climax of the Dan Da Dan Season 2 will cover the Kaiju arc, as seen in the trailer. After the Kaiju arc comes the Space Globalist arc, then the Onbusuman arc, and then, finally, in the Danmara arc, the second Golden Ball would be recovered.
The second Golden Ball was located in a police box, and then it was taken away by Unji Zuma at the command of a strange person. The arc will feature Momo getting trapped in a cursed diorama called Danmara and Okarun trying to save her by beating the game.
Unfortunately, Unji will be possessed by a yokai named Fairy-Tale Card, who acts as the main protagonist of the Danmara arc. After defeating the yokai, the protagonist will get back the second Golden Ball. Much to Okarun’s dismay, the ball would be reattached to him through a game of baseball. Finally, Okarun and Momo fulfill their promise to Granny Turbo and release her.
