Chainsaw Man – The Compilation was released on September 5, 2025. It has been released ahead of Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, which is scheduled to release on September 19, 2025. The Compilation is available on Ani-One Asia’s official YouTube channel. If looked at carefully, Chainsaw Man – The Compilation is approximately 3 hours 36 minutes, which is less than the combined length of the initial 12 episodes of Season 1.

While many fans have questioned whether the showrunners have reduced the content, in reality, Chainsaw Man has taken note of all the complaints from Season 1, rectified them, and released and improved version so that fans can enjoy it to the fullest. Starting with unnecessary scenes, dialogues, and background score, several things were changed.

Chainsaw Man Went Through Several Dialogue Cuts And Changes

The dialogue section is one of the parts where Chainsaw Man – The Compilation excelled compared to Season 1. Chainsaw Man Season 1 had several dialogues that were twisted, but the Compilation has reverted them to the original dialogues from the manga. Denji’s “Don’t get in my way” was changed to “Don’t get in our way,” in accordance with the manga.

There were several scenes where the Japanese Voice Actors could not be heard. Their muffled voices were cleared up, with higher and energetic voices to make sure the audience understands it. Also, there are many anime-exclusive dialogues, like Denji’s conversation with Katana Man, which have been removed to give Chainsaw Man more clarity ahead of its upcoming movie.

Multiple Scenes Were Improved To Align It With The Manga

Chainsaw Man Season 1 left out scenes containing the casualties caused by the Gun Devil, but the latest Compilation added them. There were several fighting sequences that were slow-paced, with one scene showcasing a still Denji looking around mid-fight. However, Tatsuki Fujimoto’s action sequences are always fast-paced, with something new happening in every manga panel. The showrunners altered the slow pace of the fight sequences to a faster pace, making them more realistic.

Even Denji pulling his cords looks fantastic in the new setup. Apart from the fight sequences, normal scenes also felt slow. As a result, Chainsaw Man – The Compilation cut most of the slow sequences to make it better. The scene featuring Aki Hayakawa’s morning routine was also removed since it was too slow compared to the originality of Chainsaw Man.

Some Adrenaline Rush Added Through Bombastic OSTs

Like spices make bland food taste great, Chainsaw Man – The Compilation cleverly added bombastic OSTs to its fight sequences, hyping up the scene as well as the people who are watching. OSTs play a crucial role in uplifting the emotional aspects of a scene, and in this regard, they provide a proper adrenaline rush for the fans.

Even the tempo of the battles has been changed to create a rhythm with the OSTs. Luckily, the showrunners have listened to the fans and added the Kick Back Opening Theme during Denji vs. Katana Man, making it more special. Most of these OST videos have thousands of views on YouTube, showcasing that the showrunners did their homework before releasing Chainsaw Man – The Compilation.
