Paru Itagaki’s magnum opus, Sanda, has been adapted into an anime series, which began airing on October 3, 2025. The first episode featured Sanda Kazushige turning into Santa Claus after his classmate, Shiori Fuyumura, broke the curse that sealed Santa Claus. Sanda is a descendant of Santa Claus, and knowing it, Shiori Fuyumura broke that seal so that he could fulfill one of her wishes.
However, unknown to them, a certain organization is after Santa Claus. The organization is known as the St. Nick Pursuit Unit (Red Coats Organization) and has thousands of followers who are quite deadly when it comes to assassinating Godly descendants. The members of the organization can be identified by a distinctive leaf-like tattoo on their hands.
What Is The St. Nick Pursuit Unit’s Objective?
The objective of the St. Nick Pursuit Unit (Red Coats Organization) is to capture the descendant of the visiting deity, dead or alive. There are several visiting deities like Santa Claus, Mizukaburi, Kukeri, Paantu, etc., and the organization targets the descendants of these deities who can transform into these deities. Killing them ensures that there will be no further descendants in the dystopian world.
The organization was founded by Kumon Fuyumura, father of Shiori Fuyumura. Initially, he formed the cult in hopes of invoking the deities to make his daughter better, but his devotion soon turned into an unhealthy obsession. Over time, he gained a group of devoted followers who were completely brainwashed and willing to follow him anywhere, even to the ends of the earth.

What Are The Achievements Of The St. Nick Pursuit Unit?
St. Nick Pursuit Unit (Red Coats Organization) is the deadliest faction in Sanda. Under the command of Kumon Fuyumura, they have been on a hunt for the visiting deities for years. It is not only in words, but they have commendable feats when it comes to following the ideals. One of their members, Saburo Yagiuda, managed to leave a scar on the previous Santa Claus. When he was 23 years old, he faced the previous Santa Claus, Sanda Kazushige’s mother. Even though these deities are immensely strong, Yagiuda was powerful enough to injure them.
Aside from that, the organization has proven to be quite resourceful when it comes to collecting information about these divine entities. They learned that Santa Claus can only be killed by bullets created with reindeer blood, and jelly beans can revert Santa Claus into Sanda. Likewise, other members in the organization are well-equipped when it comes to killing dieties. They also have multiple weapons like guns, rifles, knives, bazookas, etc., to fulfill their missions.
