Who Are Jujutsu Kaisen’s Four Special Grade Sorcerers and What Makes Them So Powerful?

Since the start of Jujutsu Kaisen, the anime has mentioned “Special Grade” on several occasions. Notably, Grade refers to a power-scaling system used to rank Jujutsu Sorcerers and Curses. While Grade 4 is the lowest rank, Special Grade is the highest one, ranking even above Grade 1.

As fans must know by now, there are quite a few registered and unregistered Special Cursed Spirits in the anime, but only four known Special Grade Jujutsu Sorcerers. With Satoru Gojo being touted as the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer, it is easy to understand that he is one of them, but who are the rest?

Who are Jujutsu Kaisen’s four Special Grade Jujutsu Sorcerers?

Satoru Gojo, Suguru Geto, Yuki Tsukumo, and Yuta Okkotsu are Jujutsu Kaisen’s four Special Grade Jujutsu Sorcerers.

Unlike Grade 1, which is the highest rank a Jujutsu Sorcerer can achieve through natural progression of ranks, Special Grade is a rank reserved for anomalies within the Jujutsu community. Under normal circumstances, a Grade 4 sorcerer can gradually become a Grade 1 as long as they train hard and defeat strong Jujutsu Curses. However, that’s not the case for Special Grade.

Special Grade Jujutsu Sorcerers possess immense strength and destructive potential from the get-go. As such, they are so exclusive, they are titled “special.” As a testament, as of 2018, there were only four registered Special Grade Jujutsu Sorcerers. The only other Special Grade Sorcerer was Ryomen Sukuna, who, as fans would know, is now recognized as the King of Curses.

What Powers Do Each of the Special Grade Jujutsu Sorcerers Possess?

Satoru Gojo

As fans would know by now, Satoru Gojo is the pride of Gojo Clan. He is the first person in four hundred years to inherit both Limitless and Six Eyes. As such, he is known as the strongest in the world.

Suguru Geto

Suguru Geto’s innate Cursed Technique “Cursed Spirit Manipulation” allows him to control vagabond cursed spirits by turning them into small black orbs and consuming them. Once Geto has consumed the cursed spirits, he can later use them as individual or combined attacks.

Yuki Tsukumo

Yuki Tsukumo’s innate Cursed Technique “Star Rage” enables her to give herself and her shikgami, Garuda, virtual mass. The extra mass adds devastating force to her attacks, making her capable of exorcising special grade curses with ease.

Yuta Okkotsu

While being haunted by Rika Orimoto, Yuta Okkotsu was immediately registered as a special grade due to her immense power. But that’s not all. Yuta Okkotsu’s innate Cursed Technique “Copy” allows him to copy any innate techniques of people who had their body parts were consumed by Rika. As such, Rika essentially serves as Yuta’s external storage of copied cursed techniques and cursed tools. Not to mention, Yuta can also draw from Rika’s cursed energy to replenish his own, making his case very special.
