My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s is one of the recent isekai that has been turning a lot of heads. The protagonist of the anime is a guy named Akira Oda. He is a high-schooler living with his mother and sister. Since his mother is sick, he has to work multiple part-time odd jobs to cope with the expenses. However, his life changes when he and his classmates are summoned to the Retice Kingdom, located in a world called Morigan.

Akira Oda gained the powers of an assassin and was the strongest among all his classmates. However, he kept his status a secret and ventured around the castle trying to learn the King’s true motive. Unfortunately, he is framed as a murderer who killed Commander Saran. With no way out, Oda sneaks out of the kingdom with help from one of his allies. Thus began his journey to become the strongest and unmask the evil king.

Akira Oda’s Abilities Make Him A Versatile Hero

Akira Oda has enhanced physicality with unmatched speed. He is so fast that it looks like he is teleporting. The protagonist is also a master swordsman, excelling in using a sword as well as a dagger. He can take down monsters with ease using a dagger and also defend against magic. Akira Oda can use Conceal Presence to become invisible, including his masking smell and mana, making him invisible to others. Even though he has not received the “Hero” ability, he is stronger than most folks, including elves.

Being an assassin, the protagonist is an expert when it comes to using his shadow. Akira uses Shadow Magic to punch holes, behead, bind, or reel in monsters inside the shadows. One of his most effective skills is healing, which allows him to heal in a matter of seconds. Surprisingly, Akira Oda also has bloodlust. When he gets furious, his shadows start to engulf the surroundings. However, when under control, it is similar to a Shadow Clad.

He also has the World Eyes ability, through which he can look into anyone’s life and status. His Detect Presence is also handy when locating nearby enemies. Akira is immune to any kind of hypnosis, like Mesmerize, if done by someone of a lower level than him. Interestingly, the protagonist can use the surrounding mana to his benefit, which was only able to be accomplished by the first Hero.

He also has a familiar, who is a Demon Cat (Yoru). The Demon Cat is known as Nightmare of Adlea for destroying the city of Adlea after losing control.

Akira Oda Is Constantly Leveling Up

Being a rational human being, Akira Oda has a keen intellect and thinks deeply before taking any step. Due to his intellect, he was soon able to deduce that there was something sketchy about the monarchy of Retice and started investigating alone. Even though he was stronger than his classmates, there were people stronger than him. He was soon caught by Commander Saran, who aided him in his quest. It was through him that Akira learned about increasing his level.

There are several ways to level up for the protagonist. He can gain knowledge from books or improve his physicality by training hard every day. However, the best way to level up faster was by fighting monsters. It is through real battles that Akira can sharpen his skills. As a result, he fought several monsters, from easy to difficult. With every fight, he was leveling up, and pretty soon, he became more confident and comfortable in using his ability. A clear mind and strong body lay the foundation, with practice increasing the overall efficiency.

Initially, he began at level 1, but currently, he is on level 88 (manga). His stats have improved massively.
