To Be Hero X is Li Haoling’s creation and is focused on the heroes, who are made through Trust Value. While the donghua has tons of heroes, only a few have ever held the title of “X”. The hero with Rank 1 is granted the title of “X”, but to attain it, there is a Heroes Tournament held every couple of years featuring the top ten heroes in a battle.
The winner of the tournament earns the prestigious title “X”. It is then defended in the next tournament, or the hero can voluntarily retire from the post. Only the most special and powerful heroes have held the prestigious title, and here is a list of all the individuals who attained that glory.
1. E-Soul
- Timeline: 2 AC
E-Soul was the first ever X in the timeline of To Be Hero X. The hero earned the title of “X” after saving the world from Zero, who had become a rogue hero. E-Soul is one of the most unique-looking heroes with a bulky armor on. Underneath his armor lies a muscular man who is missing his right arm, with it being replaced by a prosthetic arm.
E-Soul is one of the strongest heroes in Li Haoling’s magnum opus, possessing the ability of Electrokinesis, allowing him to produce and manipulate electricity at will. Electrokinesis can be used as both an offensive and defensive mechanism. Apart from that, he has super speed, the ability to fly, along with a shield and whip made out of electricity.
2. Ah Sheng
- Timeline: Unknown (between 4 AC and 16 AC)
Ah Sheng is the second X after E-Soul and was the father of Little Johnny of The Johnnies. He was married to Ah Chu and was the only X to voluntarily retire from the post. After retiring, he went to the countryside to spend more time with his family. Ah Sheng has yellow eyes and blonde hair and wears an orange cloak while performing his hero duties. The former X was known for his healing abilities and kind-hearted personality. His main ability was Photokinesis, with plant growth and healing being subsidiaries to it.
3. Vortex
- Timeline: 18 AC
Vortex succeeded Ah Sheng after the latter voluntarily retired from the rank of X. Very little is known about his background except for the fact that he is a middle-aged man with white hair. Vortex was a powerful being with the ability to fly, create vortexes, aerokinesis, and telekinesis.
4. DJ Shindig
- Timeline: 24 AC
DJ Shindig earned the title of X after coming out victorious in the 12th Heroes Tournament. He is a dark skinned man with spiky blonde hair and wears pink jackets, black harem pants, and white sneakers. The most unique feature of his looks is the disco ball, which he wears over his head as a helmet. Being affiliated with music, Music and Sound was the name of his ability. He could also perform musical hypnosis, increase the physicality of his body, and is also a skilled brawler. When DJ Shindig uses his powers, his jacket turns orange, while he glows in purple.
5. Mr. Matchstick and Ms. Blazing Fire
- Timeline: 28 AC
Mr. Matchstick and Ms. Blazing Fire are husband and wife, and the only duo to hold the title of X. The former is a sturdy man with short brown hair, while the latter has long scarlet hair and wears a cowboy hat. Mr. Matchstick can shoot bullets from his fingertips, while Ms. Blazing Fire has the ability of pyrokinesis, generating flames from her fingertips.
6. Smile (also known as Extro)
- Timeline: 30 AC
After winning the 15th Heroes Tournament, Smile became X in the To Be Hero X timeline. Smile has a muscular build, blonde hair, and facial hair, and wears a bright yellow suit with a smiley face on his chest and a cape. He lowkey resembles Superman since not only his looks but also his abilities are similar to the DC superhero. Smile has enhanced physicality, speed, reflexes, can fly, shoot projectiles, and has the ability to perform pyrokinesis.
7. Bowa
- Timeline: 32 AC
After defeating Smile during the 16th Heroes Tournament, Bowa became the second-ever female to become X. Bowa is a young woman with fair skin and purple hair, and has a gigantic axe, which is her primary weapon. She has a rivalry with Queen and is one of the few heroes to have defended her X title in the next Heroes Tournament.
Bowa has superhuman strength, speed, reflexes, can produce energy projections, and has the ability to fly. The former X is a trained combatant and increases her proficiency by using different methods to fight with her axe. She can transform her blade into a heavy bardiche axe, turn it into double hatchets, and use energy ropes. Bowa is the perfect example of a mixture of strength and beauty.
8. Hero X
- Timeline: 36 AC
Hero X is the current holder of the title X, and surprisingly, he is not associated with any Hero Organization. While he is a salaryman at FOMO, no one knows his true identity outside his hero personality. His hero attire consists of a white suit, white trousers, and white shoes. His hair is also white, and he wears a pair of sunglasses with orange lenses.
In his regular form, he is seen in a black outfit with black hair and circle-rimmed glasses. Hero X’s true abilities remain unknown, but a rough hypothesis states that he can manipulate surroundings at his will, teleport, warp reality, and ideogenesis. With whatever little appearances he made, Hero X has a swagger to his personality and is logical, flexible, imaginative, precise, and enjoys solving problems.
