Dan Da Dan Season 2, Episode 7, concluded with the portraits of musicians in the school music room coming to life after they played the piano. Episode 8 explored the ghost musicians and the true extent of their abilities, while Okarun and Aira Shiratori fought for their lives. It was Turbo Granny who brought them to the spot for training them, since she knew about the musicians.
The musicians formed an opera in which each specialized in a certain instrument. By the end of the episode, Okarunโs training was successful, and he defeated the opera singers with Airaโs help. Amidst all this, the most exciting part was when the opera singers emerged as giants and revealed their true identities. They have a connection with the real-world musicians!
Dan Da Danโs Opera Singers Are More Than Just Ghosts
Dan Da Dan Season 2 Episode 8 featured the ghost musicians (Vanben, Grandma Bach, Trainspotter, Ninth, Mozza, and Glasses) bringing out opera singers to attack Okarun and Aira. The four opera singers were giants and guarded the ghost musicians from any attacks. They were a part of an illusion named Symphony No. 9: Chorus. While it has not been officially confirmed who inspired the opera singers, they show strong connections with the following people:
- Female 1 (Soprano) โ Henriette Sontag
- Female 2 (Contralto) โ Caroline Unger
- Male 1 (Tenor) โ Anton Haizinger
- Male 2 (Bass/Baritone) โ Joseph Seipelt
These opera singers performed Beethovenโs Symphony No. 9 when it premiered in 1824, making them strongly connected to the illusory ability of the same name. Together, they form an opera and appear when the surroundings become an illusion of an opera house. All of them are dressed according to their professions and have voices matching their designation. The opera singers are only known to sing and create shadowy soldiers.

The Opera Singers Pack Quite A Punch With Their Music
While music is the passion of the ghost opera singers in Dan Da Dan, they are also quite potent when it comes to facing an opponent. Individually, they might not add up to much, but together they gave Okarun and Aira a run for their money, even in their hybrid form. The opera singers act both offensively and defensively for the ghost orchestra. For the offensive purpose, they were shown to possess the ability to create illusions of numerous shadowy individuals who overwhelmed the protagonist duo.
They open their mouth and the illusions fall out, like ants falling out of a sugar container. Even though they are a part of the orchestraโs Symphony No. 9: Chorus illusions. As for the defensive purpose, their giant figures act as a shield for the ghost orchestra. Even when Aira was on top of an opera singer, others were not hesitant to hit her, even if it meant injuring the opera singer. They cannot be defeated individually and only cease to exist when the orchestra is defeated.
