The Astra TV Awards 2024 have announced the nominees for their all-new category ‘Best Anime Series’, which includes some popular anime titles. The Hollywood Creative Alliance, the former Hollywood Critics Association, presents the awards. It will be a two-ceremony event that will honor those in television whose work was released between June 1, 2023, and May 31, 2024 in Los Angeles on Sunday, August 18, 2024.
Earlier in 2023, ‘Attack on Titan’ bagged the award for ‘Best Streaming Animated Series or TV Movie’ category, defeating its competitors like – My Hero Academia, Harley Quinn, Star Trek, etc., and was the first anime to ever win the award before the creation of ‘Best Anime Series’ category.

After renaming the Hollywood Critics Association to Hollywood Creative Alliance, the name of its award show was also changed to “The Astra Awards”. The former HCA Film Awards, HCA TV Awards, and HCA Creative Arts Awards were changed to the Astra Film Awards, Astra TV Awards, and, Astra Creative Arts Awards, respectively.
1. Astra TV Awards
Before the renaming, the first HCA TV Awards presented by the Hollywood Critics Association aired on YouTube in August 2021. Last Astra TV Awards (3rd) aired on January 8, 2024, at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, and streamed live on YouTube.
The fourth and upcoming Astra TV Awards will be organized on August 18, 2024, at the Avalon Hollywood in Hollywood and will be streamed on Astra’s official YouTube channel.
2. Astra Creative Arts Awards
Before the rename, the first HCA Creative Arts Awards presented by Hollywood Creative Alliance took place on Feb 24, 2023, and the winners were announced on HCA’s official Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts.
The last Astra Creative Awards (2nd) took on Feb 26, 2024, at City Market Social House in Los Angeles, California.
Categories include Best Editing, Best Production Design, Best Visual Effects, etc.
3. Astra Film Award
The last (7th) Astra Film Awards presented by the Hollywood Creative Alliance, took place on January 6, 2024, at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.
Categories include Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Actor/Actress in a Film, etc.
