What Makes Fire Force And Soul Eater Connected?

The last chapter of Fire Force revealed that Soul Eater is connected to it. Previously, there were hints, but no one could confirm it since mangaka often implements the same features in several of their creations. The smiling moon and sun definitely raised a few questions, with Arthur Boyleโ€™s Excalibur joining the discussion. However, after performing the Soul Resonance with his family, Shinra Kusakabe literally became a god by transforming into Shinrabanshou Man.

He gained the ability to control life and death, and hope and despair. Using his powers, he transformed the world of despair and madness into a more stable one. He created the first Death God, which was later shown in Soul Eater as the headmaster of Death Weapon Meister Academy. Death God is an all-powerful individual, but unlike his name, he is quite benevolent.

The last chapter also featured a younger version of the two main characters of Soul Eater, Maka and Kid. Then there is Excalibur, Arthur Boyleโ€™s sword, which has become a living creature. He dons the same narcissistic personality as his master, and only a few are able to match his wavelength and wield him. Also, Soul Eater confirmed Arthur Boyle to be the first meister of Excalibur, making a clear connection between the two.

Other References That Create A Connection Between The Two

As mentioned before, the weird-looking smiling sun and moon made their debut at the end of Fire Force and were seen in Soul Eater, confirming that both of them happen in the same universe. Apart from Shinigami, there are also witches in Soul Eater, and it ties a connection with Inca Kasugatani of Fire Force. She is the first witch in Shinrabanshou Manโ€™s reformed world, and the concept of witches has been carried forward several centuries later.

Atsushi Ohkubo mentioned Fire Force to be his last work, and showcasing his genius mentality, his last work turned out to be the prequel of his previous work. Fire Forceโ€™s conclusion opened up a whole new world that links madness, death, fire, and souls together, making Soul Eater a perfect setup.
