Kaiju No. 8 is among the top trending ongoing manga and anime series. Created by Naoya Matsumoto, the anime takes place in a world where monsters, also known as kaijus, attack humans on a regular basis, and to fight these monsters, a military division, the Defense Corps, is created, who fight kaijus with special exo-suits.
In all this chaos, the story follows Kafka Hibino, who cleans monster carcasses after battle. One day, while cleaning, a parasite-type kaiju enters his body, giving him superhuman powers. Now with his newfound kaiju powers, Kafka aims to join the Defense Corps.
The second season of the anime will hit screens in July, so those who want to quench their thirst with some Kaiju or parasitic aliens-related anime can follow the list below.
1. Attack on Titan
Adapted from Hajime Isayama’s manga, Attack on Titan is an anime taking place in a dystopian era where humans live inside huge walls that protect them from humanoid man-eating monsters called titans.
The story has many characters, but it mainly follows young Eren Yeager and his friends, who join an elite border security force, the Survey Corps, to find a way to defeat the monster before the walls are breached.

2. Neon Genesis Evangelion
Created by well-known director Hideaki Anno, the anime takes place in a future where giant monsters known as Angels attack Tokyo. To fight these Angels, an organization, NERV, has developed large humanoid robots called Evangelion that are piloted by humans.
In this setting, the anime follows a teenager, Shinji Ikari, who is chosen to become one of the pilots of Evangelion Unit-01. The anime is not just your Monster Vs Robot series, it also talks about themes of mental trauma, parental abandonment, friendship, and much more.

3. Parasyte
The anime is based on an award-winning manga created by Hitoshi Iwaaki. The story of this anime is very similar to Kaiju No. 8, but Parasyte’s narrative has a darker tone. One day, parasitic aliens fall from the sky to take control of the human body, who look the same but can turn their body parts into grotesque weapons.
The story mainly focuses on the life of an average high school teenager, Shinichi Izumi, who comes in contact with the parasitic alien while sleeping. However, the alien fails to take over Shinichi’s brain and instead forms a symbiotic relationship with him, where they both need each other to survive from other hostile aliens.

4. Xam’d: Lost Memories
Xam’d: Lost Memories is an underrated gem adapted from the manga created by Masahiro Kawanabe. The anime’s narrative starts off from Sentan Island, a peaceful place in a world on the brink of war. This peace is broken when one day a teenage boy, Akiyuki Takehara, is caught in a bus explosion caused by a mysterious girl, Nazuna. The blast caused a white light to enter his body, transforming him into a beast called Xam’d.
Akiyuki loses his mind and is forced to fight off the invaders who attacked the island. He is saved by Nazuna, who gives him a choice: escape with her or be turned to stone. Choosing to leave, Akiyuki begins a journey across unfamiliar lands, uncovering the truth about his transformation and the deeper connection between himself and the world of Xam’d.

5. Chainsaw Man
The anime is based on one of the most popular manga series created by Tatsuki Fujimoto. The anime revolves around Denji, a teenager, who is caught in his father’s heavy debt with the Yakuza. In this reality, devils are real, so Denji hunts these monsters along with his pet chainsaw Devil, Ponchita, to pay off his debt. One day, the yakuza kill Denji to make a quick buck.
Due to some miracle, Pochita merges with Denji and transforms into Chainsaw Man, a devil with a chainsaw coming out of his body parts. Later, Denji is scouted by devil hunter Makima into the Public Safety Bureau to do her bidding. Denji fights devils and navigates a brutal new world to satisfy his simple needs, like lust and food.
