A new key visual was revealed for the anime “Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf” along with an announcement regarding the new arc to be adapted in upcoming episodes. The Legend of the Pagan Gods Arc “Ikyะพฬ„ no Kamigami no Denshะพฬ„”, which was earlier excluded in the 2008 version of the anime adaption will now be adapted into the story. The 20th episode featuring the new arc will be broadcast next week, on Monday, August 19th.

The new key visual also features new cast member, Lynn as Elsa Schtingheim and Atsushi Abe as Evan Gyoam. The original cast has returned withย Jun Fukuyama playing Kraft Lawrence, Ami Koshimizu as Holo, and Mai Nakahara as Norah Arendt. Takeo Takahashi, the director of the original anime has also made a comeback as Chief Director for the anime series along with Hijiri Sanpei as director of the series at studio Passione. Music for the series is being composed by Kevin Penkin.

The anime is scheduled for 25 episodes and airing since April 2024 it is currently available to stream on Crunchyroll, Netflix, and Aniplus TV.

The anime “Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf” has received its second anime ending score titled “Ringo to Kimi”. The AMV features scenes from episodes 14-19 covering “The Duel with the Young Fish Merchant Arc” and was released on TOHO Animation’s official YouTube channel. The ending score is performed by Neriame’s two-member group consisting of Akane and Akari. The group earlier debuted with their first anime opening score for “The Cafe Terrace and Its Goddesses” TV anime, titled “Unmei Kyodotai!” in collaboration with Sony Music. “Ringo to Kimi” is available to stream and download digitally and will be available in Japan on September 4, 2024, in CD format.

The story focuses on Kraft Lawrence, a 25-year-old traveling merchant who travels to different towns aspiring to have his shop. One day, after finishing his business in the village of Pasloe, he discovers a mysterious girl(Holo) with wolf ears and a tail asleep in his wagon. She wishes to return to her homeland, Yoitsu in the north and convinces Lawrence to take her with him in exchange for her help in his business through her wisdom.

The anime features different opening and ending themes throughout the series. For the opening theme, the first 13 episodes feature “Tabi no Yukue” by Hana Hope and “Sign” by Aimer for episodes 14 to 18. The series features the ending score “Andante” by ClariS for episodes 1 to 8 and 10 to 13, while it features “Ringo to Kimi” by Neriame from episode 14 onward.
