Kaiju No. 8 is slowly progressing towards its conclusion. Naoya Matsumoto has hinted that the manga would end soon. With the entire Japan Anti-Kaiju Defense Force fighting against Kaiju No. 9, the last few chapters saw an all-out battle between the two parties. Every character had their moment of glory during the battle, but from the last couple of chapters, the focus shifted to the protagonist, Kafka Hibino, who is the host of Kaiju No. 8.
In Kaiju No. 8, chapter 119, the fans saw the protagonist lose his vitals, but after a miraculous trade-off, he came back to life and became stronger than ever. After the release of chapter 120, fans were treated to another great moment, with Kaiju No. 8 finally transforming into his true form.
Kaiju No. 8 Finally Out of His Shell
Kaiju No. 8 Chapter 120 begins with the protagonist landing a hard blow on the Meireki Era Monster/Kaiju No. 9. Everyone is shocked to see Kafka Hibino coming back to life even though there were no signs of his vitals a moment ago. All the members were exhausted, and Gen Narumi asked Kafka to show what he was capable of.
However, Vice Commander Hoshina could feel something different about the protagonist. Suddenly, the panel shifted to a young Kafka experiencing a live Kaiju attack that destroyed his house and the place he was living. He felt miserable since he was powerless against the enemy and could not be of any help.
Then, elder Kafka joined the younger one, and together, they set their target to eliminate all the Kaiju. Following the flashback, fans saw Kaiju No. 8 powering up, shocking everyone. However, the most shocking moment came in the last panel. While growing in strength and size, Kaiju No. 8 was also deshelling his black coat, revealing a new white outer cover.

Kafka Hibino willingly gave up his human heart for the Kaiju core. Even if he won’t be able to return to being a human, he wants to save his friends and colleagues. With the latest chapter teasing a major upgrade in Kaiju No. 8 powers and abilities, the upcoming battle might be the decider. It is the battle that the fans have been waiting for a long time. Kafka is burdened with a great task, while the antagonist is just there for the destruction of humanity and creating Kaiju’s world. Everyone is looking forward to the upcoming chapter to see what Naoya Matsumoto has in store, especially after revealing Kaiju No. 8’s new form.
