Since the end of Dan Da Dan Season 1, the Kito Family has proven to be a major nuisance for the protagonists. The Kito Family has always tried to cause harm to the protagonists because Momo and Okarun tried to end the Curse of the Tsuchinoko.
For most of the anime, the family has been portrayed as eccentric humans with their head, Naki Kito, having more powers than an average human being. However, Dan Da Dan revealed that the Kito Family is not made up of regular humans. It was previously revealed how they were responsible for the birth of the Evil Eye, and now their origin has been unearthed.
Kito Family Are Subterranean Beings
The Kito Family is led by Naki Kito, and they are known to have resided within the Byakuja Village for centuries, offering sacrifices to the Mongolian Death Worm, known as Tsuchinoko. While this information has been well established in the anime, there is an underlying secret regarding the family’s origin. The Kito family members are subterranean beings, meaning that they originated from within the Earth rather than the surface.
Humans live on the surface of the Earth, and due to the Kito family’s origin, they belong to the Unidentified Mysterious Animals or UMA category. It is a term used for living beings who are believed to exist but whose presence has not been confirmed by science. Naki Kito is likely the first one to come to the surface since she is more than a couple of centuries old.
Naki Kito’s Original Appearance Will Shock Many
Naki Kito appears to be a woman of short stature, but it is just a disguise. Originally, she is a large being with two horns, side plating eyes, and a long, puckered mouth, with a spring-like body. While her human appearance is quite shady, her subterranean form seems to one-up her human form. However, the other known members of the Kito’s subterranean forms are unknown. The human sacrifices started 200 hundred years ago, and Naki is believed to be much older than that. She, being a UMA, proves her immortality and physical prowess, which easily surpasses others.
