Naoya Matsumoto’s Kaiju No. 8 has introduced multiple identified Kaiju, but no one was as destructive as Kaiju No. 6. Due to its devastating abilities, it had the moniker of The King of Kaiju, which is a reference to Godzilla, the King of the Monsters. Even its appearance is similar to Godzilla, and the only difference is that Kaiju No. 6 has long, massive tails, while Godzilla has one tail.
The Japan Anti-Kaiju Defence Force just barely subjugated the monster, and that too with multiple casualties. After its subjugation, Kaiju No. 6 was turned into a Numbers Weapon, but due to its sheer abilities, no one was able to wield it and was kept in cold storage until Reno Ichikawa was successful in wielding its powers. The incident of its defeat is considered a black day in the Defence Force.
Kaiju No. 6’s Defeat Left The Defence Force On Their Last Breath
While the extensive details regarding how it was defeated were never revealed by Kaiju No. 8, it was nothing less than a war. Kaiju No. 6 first appeared a decade ago from the present time and wreaked havoc from the get-go. Destruction followed him wherever he went, and there was no stopping his violence. To stop his rampage for once and all, 200 Defence Force members and three captains laid their lives. Out of the three captains, one was Hikari Shinomiya, the wife of Isao Shinomiya and mother of Kikoru Shinomiya.
Why Is Kaiju No. 6 Regarded As The King Of Kaiju?
Even amidst all the identified Kaiju, Kaiju No. 6 is on another level. It had a fortitude level of 9.6, which was the highest at that time. Multiple Honju-level kaiju followed him along with cataclysms. The monster had great strength and durability, since it was singlehandedly dealing with the entire Defence Force and standing tall while being showered with attacks. It also used its tails as a weapon, which was similar to having multiple whips.
Its special ability is cryokinesis, which is similar to having ice-related powers. The reason behind it causing destruction wherever it went was because of his ability to bring giant snowstorms, which left everything in ruins. Even when it was converted into Numbers Weapon 6, it was able to knock down Reno Ichikawa when he first wielded it. Since it was forged from its corpse, it emits cold energy, which is similar to its original self.
How Was Reno Ichikawa Able To Wield Numbers Weapon 6?
With Kaiju No. 9 on the move and getting stronger every moment, the Defence Force was also looking to improve its powers and abilities. One of the ways they could achieve it was by making sure someone could wield Numbers Weapon 6, which was made from Kaiju No. 6’s corpse.
The Vice Captain of the Third Division, Soshiro Hoshina, and Mina Ashiro, recommended Reno Ichikawa’s name. After doing all the tests, it was found that Ichikawa’s cells were compatible with the weapon. As a result, he first wielded it against a Mole Type Kaiju 67, and after a month, he officially became the first Defence Force member to wield Numbers Weapon 6, while being a member of the Fourth Division.
