Lord of the Mysteries is one of the most recent donghua to premiere. Due to its popularity, the donghua gained a massive following right after it was animated. Currently, only a handful of episodes have been released, with the story having completed the introductory phase and entered into the main timeline. The story revolves around Zhou Mingrui, who ends up in the body of Klein Moretti, belonging to a different place and time, and now is on a journey to find the truth behind all the happenings.

The system can be complex for newcomers, so here is a breakdown of the entire system.

What Are Beyonders, Pathways and Sequences in Lord of the Mysteries?

The power system can be confusing for the new Lord of the Mysteries fan. Beyonders, Pathways, and Sequences form the basis of the donghua’s power system. To make it more understandable, here is a breakdown of the three concepts of the donghua.

• Beyonders: Sentient beings who are known to possess Beyonder characteristics are known as Beyonders. There are a couple of methods that a person can become a Beyonder, with the first being through the consumption of the Beyonder Potion. The second one is a natural process where an individual prays to God or Above entities, and receives a boon in return. Due to the process, the people belonging to the second category are known as Boon Recipients.

• Pathways: Pathways, also known as Path of the Divine, are ten potion formulas, which, when consumed, grant access to the consumer mystical and supernatural abilities. With 22 different Pathways available, drinking any potion turns a person into a Beyonder. The difference between these Pathways is that each one of them grants unique authorities to the individuals and grants them the ability to do different things. The 22 Pathways are Fool, Door, Error, Visionary, Sun, Tyrant, White Tower, Hanged Man, Darkness, Death, Twilight Giant, Demoness, Red Priest, Hermit, Paragon, Wheel of Fortune, Mother, Moon, Abyss, Chained, Black Emperor, Justiciar.

• Sequences: The Pathways are further divided into Sequences, with each Pathway having ten Sequences. The weakest Sequence is nine, and zero is the highest and strongest Sequence. Levelling up through the Sequences can help a Beyonder earn divinity, since only one can reach the highest Sequence and be revered as God. However, it sounds easier than said since there are multiple people in the same Pathways and all aiming for the same thing.

How To Attain Divinity In Lord of the Mysteries?

As mentioned before, reaching the highest Sequence within a Pathway will help a Beyonder earn divinity. To level up, a Beyonder needs to fully digest the Sequence 9 potion before drinking the Sequence 8 potion. Unknown to many, the protagonist has been using the Acting Method to digest the Sequence potion faster than others. In Acting Method, the Beyonder needs to act according to the potion’s name to digest it faster. For example, if a potion is named “Clown” potion, the Beyonder needs to act as a clown to speed up their digestion.
