Yuki Tabataโs Black Clover was deemed to be the next big thing in the anime world, since it began just after Naruto Shippuden’s conclusion in 2017 and had the same animation studio. The Shonen anime with a noir touch soon became a fan favorite, and with Studio Pierrotโs animation, there was no stopping it. Fans are even starting to consider it one of the best Shonen anime of the modern day.
Asta and Yunoโs journey to become the Wizard King has taken them through multiple difficult missions, with each time they coming back stronger and more experienced. However, when Black Clover was at the peak of its popularity and was airing the Spade Kingdom arc, the anime came to an abrupt hiatus in 2021.
It was revealed that the reason for the hiatus was that the anime was catching up to the manga, and the showrunners did not want to include any more fillers. It had been four years since the anime last aired, and people were starting to think that it had gotten the โBleachโ treatment. When all hope was lost, Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #32 confirmed that Black Clover Season 2 is in production!

Black Clover Season 2 Is Officially Confirmed
As per Black Clover TV animeโs latest announcement, Black Clover season 2 is officially in the works. Unfortunately, the anime did not provide any details regarding the announcement, as they are keeping it for future announcements. Black Clover came to a halt with episode 170, which featured Asta finally confronting Liebe, the Devil behind his Anti-Magic powers.
The Vice-Captain of the Black Bulls, Nacht Faust, guided him in his quest, acknowledging his powers. The episode concluded with Liebe and Asta forming a contract and being ready to save Yami Sukehiro, who was kidnapped by Zenon Zogratis of the Spade Kingdomโs Dark Triad. While the anime went on a hiatus, the manga completed the Spade Kingdom arc, featured a few more chapters, before going into a hiatus too.
However, the manga returned after changing from the Weekly Shonen Jump to Jump GIGA. Unfortunately, Jump GIGA publishes a chapter every three months. Yuki Tabata opted for it because of his recurring health issues. Currently, the Black Clover manga is in its final arc, and three upcoming chapters will be published on Jump GIGA 2025 Summer, which will release on August 12, 2025.
Black Clover Remains One Of The Most Popular Manga
Even though Black Clover anime went on a hiatus in 2021 and the manga went through some major changes in the past few years, it still remains one of the most popular anime. With half of 2025 gone, Weekly Shonen Jump has revealed the list of the highest number of circulated manga for the following year. Surprisingly, Black Clover comes third with 19 million copies circulated worldwide, only behind One Piece (516 million) and Hunter x Hunter (84 million).
Also, Yuki Tabataโs Black Clover will be celebrating its 10th Anniversary with multiple projects through Jump GIGA 2025 Summer. There will be double-sided posters with cover, lottery, lead color page, and most importantly, it will feature illustrations from 17 mangaka, including Gege Akutami (Jujutsu Kaisen), Koyoharu Gotouge (Demon Slayer), Eiichiro Oda (One Piece), Tite Kubo (Bleach), Masashi Kishimoto (Naruto), etc. All this news about Black Clover has made the fandom pretty excited, but nothing can top the animeโs sequel news.
