The finale of Bleach TYBW – The Conflict surely upped the tempo with the introduction of numerous fights, one of them centered around Askin Naak Le Vaar. The fight featured the 23rd Head of the Shihoin Clan, Yushiro, who also happens to be Yoruichi’s younger brother! Here is all you need to know about the flashy showdown and the clan itself.
What is the Shihoin clan all about?
The Shihoin clan is one of the four noble families in the bleachverse. They occupy a prestigious spot in the society of Seireitei. The clan head leads the Omnitsukido, an organization responsible for looking after and protecting spiritual treasures and tools such as the Hōgu, Bugu, and Tenshei Heisō. Not much has been revealed about its clan members, but here is what we know:

- Chika Shihoin: The Captain of the Second Division of the original Gotei 13. His cold-blooded nature was even acknowledged by Yhwach when he referred to the former’s massacre of the Lichtreich Quincies during the first invasion attempt.
- Yoruichi Shihoin: The 22nd Head of the Shihoin clan, Yoruichi, was exiled from the Soul Society after helping Urahara Kisuke and the Visord escape. Her position as the Captain of the 2nd Division was transferred to Soi Fon. Later, due to her efforts in fighting Aizen, her exile status was lifted, and she continued to be a loyal but unconventional ally of the Soul Society.
- Yushiro Shihoin: Yushiro is the 23rd head of the Shihoin clan and Yoruichi’s younger brother. Here, he is earnest and innocent and looks up to his sister. Yoruichi herself recognizes his talent in combat when he can go toe to toe with Askin.
Yushiro Shihoin vs Askin Naak le Vaar
Yushiro, the new head of the Shihoin clan, dropped by in the middle of Askin’s duel with Yoruichi. The Quincy had already made short work of Ichigo and his friends, who needed saving by her. Yushiro wanted to protect his elder sister from Askin and impress her, for he had used a technique she had taught very recently.

The Shunko technique greatly enhances the user’s arms and legs, allowing them to attain high physical prowess and, most importantly, speed. The technique mixes Kido usage, allowing the user to produce explosive attacks. Yushiro replicated the same with the special move Shunko: Bakuen Muso, which engulfed Askin in explosions. The fight unfortunately ended for Yushiro as Quincy’s schrift, The Death Dealing, allowed him to modify the lethal dosage of any substance. Furthermore, he could develop an immunity to said lethal substance. Since Askin employed Reishi poisoning as his method of warfare, Yushiro’s attacks, which were based on Reishi, were ineffective against him!
Despite the outcome, Yushiro’s battle highlights the immense responsibility of the new Shihoin clan head and the Omnitsukido. The Shihoin clan, with its history and prominent figures, remains a key player in the Bleach series.
