Bocchi the Rock! season one premiered on October 9, 2022, and soon became one of the most popular anime of that year. Hitori Goto’s journey from being a socially awkward kid to becoming a popular guitarist has taken the fans through a great deal of emotions. Due to its unique plot, Bocchi the Rock! was even nominated in several categories during the 2024 Crunchyroll Awards. Out of its many nominations, Bocchi the Rock! season one won the Best Slice of Life Anime Award.
Aki Hamaji’s magnum opus has surpassed three million manga copies by 2024, which shows its popularity. With so many achievements, the showrunners officially announced the second season of Bocchi the Rock! One of the major changes in season two will be the director, Yusuke Yamamoto, replacing Keiichiro Saito. Yusuke Yamamoto is known for working as one of the key animators in Mob Psycho 100 and Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, and episode director in Oshi no Ko.
Bocchi the Rock! Season 2 Announcement and Other Key Details
The official YouTube channel of Aniplex announced the second season of Bocchi the Rock! through a video. They have only released a trailer featuring the members of the Kessoku Band – Hitori Gotoh, Nijika Ijichi, Ryo Yamada, and Ikuyo Kita. Along with the trailer, the cast and staff of the anime were also revealed. They are as follows:

What Happened In Bocchi the Rock! Season 1?
Bocchi the Rock! season 1 started with a shy and socially awkward girl named Hitori Gotoh. Watching a rock band perform on television, she dreams of playing guitar in real. However, due to her introverted nature, she is unable to approach anyone about her dreams and starts an online page under the name “guitarhero.” Soon, the page becomes popular, and Hitori joins a band. They name the band Kessoku Band.
The Kessoku Band performs at Shimokitazawa’s live house Starry, where the older sister of one of her bandmates works. Initially, Hitori’s performances were not up to the mark, but she improved greatly throughout the season. While working as a guitarist, she also tried to overcome her introverted personality. Hitori is named Bocchi by her colleagues.

Bocchi the Rock! season 2 will bring back the Kessoku Band, who will step into a new journey.
