After Gachiakuta Episode 2 premiered on July 13, 2025, the fans were eagerly looking forward to the next weekend for episode 3’s release. The anime is almost done with the introductory parts, with the protagonist having unlocked his potential and found a mentor in Enjin. While Gachiakuta is about to delve deeper into the plot, the official social media page of Gachiakuta has announced that the upcoming episode has been delayed by a week.
Initially, Gachiakuta Episode 3 was scheduled to release on Sunday, July 20, 2025, during the Agaru Anime timeslot (11:30 PM JST) on CBC/TBS and channels affiliated with it. Unfortunately, after the announcement, the anime will release on July 27, 2025, during the same time slot. It has upset fans since they were not prepared for this, but there is a specific reason behind the announcement.
Why Was Gachiakuta Episode 3 Delayed?
One of the very intriguing projects of Summer 2025, Gachiakuta, has been postponed for a week due to the election in Japan. During the timeslot of Gachiakuta, a special coverage of the election will be taking place. While the fans are upset about waiting for another week, they are also relieved to know that the delay is not due to production issues. Also, it is speculated that Crunchyroll and other streaming sites of Gachiakuta will not feature the third episode, even though no announcement has been made as of yet.

Gachiakuta Episode 1 and Episode 2 Recap
Gachiakuta follows Rudo Surebrec’s story, who lives with his adoptive father, Regto, on the Sphere. Even though they live on the Sphere, they are the tribesfolk and live on the outskirts of the city. All the trash of the Sphere, including criminals, is thrown into the Abyss, a giant, endless pit of nothingness. One day, Rudo returns home and finds Regto murdered by a masked individual. Unfortunately, Rudo is taken in as the murderer and sent to the Abyss. As he fell, he developed a massive hatred towards the people since they did not believe him and swore revenge against them by proving his innocence.
When Rudo woke up, he saw a dark place covered with trash in its entirety. The air was almost unbreathable due to all the poisonous gases that had been generated from the trash. While he was exploring, he encountered multiple giant creatures, who were after him. After carefully inspecting, Rudo found they were made of trash. In a moment of desperation, Rudo showcased a little of his hidden abilities and killed them. But it readily exhausted him, and the air was also making him cough up blood. Unfortunately, it was not the end as multiple other trash beasts arrived to annihilate Rudo.
While all hope was lost, an individual named Enjin arrived. He had an umbrella, and using his abilities, he turned it into a weapon, destroying all the trash beasts within seconds. The protagonist learned that the place was called the Ground and Enjin was a Cleaner, a person with special abilities who can fight the trash beasts. To test Rudo’s abilities, Enjin took him to a few human traffickers, who mistreated the protagonist and were willing to sell him. Enraged by their behavior, Rudo unlocked his potential, defeating all of them and piquing Enjin’s interest in him. Enjin comes back and asks him to accompany him.
