Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 is off to a blast by getting into action right from the start. After the transfer of multiple members from the Third Division to other divisions, Kikoru Shinomiya and Kafka Hibino ended up with the First Division, led by Gen Narumi. Gen Narumi is one of the strongest characters in Kaiju No. 8 and is highly addicted to video games and online shopping.
Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 Episode 2 featured the pink-haired captain leading his team into a battle against a city-wide attack by a horde of Ant Kaiju, controlled by Kaiju No. 9. After Kikoru Shinomiya’s epic debut with his new team, the third episode featured Gen Narumi showcasing his abilities, especially Numbers Weapon 1.
Numbers Weapon 1 In Action
Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 Episode 3, titled “The Strongest Division,” featured Numbers Weapon 1 in action. After Kaiju No. 9 assaulted the city, the First Division was busy cleaning the mess. While Kikoru and Kafka were getting overwhelmed by the antagonist, Gen Narumi entered the field and went to face Kaiju No. 9. Kaiju No. 9 launched several attacks, but Gen dodged all of them. Then he unleashed Numbers Weapon 1 and instantly predicted the movements of the Kaiju.
He could locate the brain signals and their weak spots. His simultaneous attacks proved too much for the villain, and slowly, Kaiju No. 9 started to lose his footing. Gen destroyed the Ant Kaiju he was on using Squadron-Style Gunsword Technique Number Two – Salvo Slash, but thanks to Kaiju No. 9’s regeneration abilities, it got back up. However, the attacks had significantly weakened him, allowing Kaiju No. 8 to corner him.
What is Numbers Weapon 1?
Kaiju No. 1 was the first monster to reach the fortitude level of 9.0. He had pseudo-foresight, which allowed him to pinpoint the weak points of others and their movements. It helped him launch infallible attacks on its attackers. After its subjugation, it was turned into a Numbers Weapon, and Gen Narumi is the one using it. The weapon is named RT-0001 and has been with Gen for several years. His eyes were embedded with light spectacles made from Kaiju No. 1’s retinas. It helps him see brain impulses and make predictions about which direction attacks are coming.
After equipping the combat suit of Numbers Weapon 1 and training for years, his abilities improved, making him more compatible with it. Currently, he can perceive temperature fluctuations, electron movements, and changes in the terrain. All these abilities help him in predicting what might happen and create a mental image. It is fair to say that the First Division’s captain has future sight, and when combined with his Bayonet, he is unstoppable.
