The latest installment of Re:Zero has fans loving the story arc. Sin Archbishop of the Witch Cult Sirius Romanée-Conti’s rivalry with Subaru was expected to unfold in the 2nd episode. Released on Oct. 9, Sirius displayed her unparalleled powers and offered a simple explanation for the said antagonist’s agenda.
Re:Zero Season 3 Episode 2 witnessed Subaru and Beatrice trying to use Shamac to defeat Sirius Romanée-Conti without destroying others. However, they soon come to the realization that this method is invalid toward the Wrath of the Witch Cult.
What is Shamac?
Shamac is the ability to nullify the target’s sense of feeling. This allows separation and targets a specific individual rather than destroying everything around them. Whereas a low-grade spell allows them to perform the aforementioned, a high-grade Shamac can enable the user to come close to teleporting their target in certain instances.
Why Didn’t Shamac Work Against Sirius Romanée-Conti?
After realizing that Reinhard’s strategy against Sirius Romanée-Conti will not work, Beatrice opts for Shamac, which targets an individual. Despite Reinhard slashing the Wrath of the Witch Cult, every single being under her spell suffered the same fate. As Subaru appeared delighted about this idea, Emilia demanded she would fight Sirius.
Beatrice’s initial idea of wanting to use Shamac against Sirius was null and void. Since the member of the Witch Cult’s powers are spiritual, their earlier plan was scrapped. Betty realized the fact after witnessing that the nearby citizens were still under her spell, despite Emilia attacking her.
Re:Zero Season 3 Episode 1 Recap
Arguably the biggest Isekai anime to ever exist, Re:Zero Season 3 Episode 1 was an hour-long thirty-minute fest that allowed fans to warm up to the show. The time-skip episode starts off with Subaru and the crew traveling to Priestella, where their adventure begins. This episode also introduces Greed, Gluttony, and the biggest menace of them all, Wrath Sin Archbishop, Sirius Romanée-Conti, who ultimately kills Subaru.
