It has been a few weeks since One Punch Man Season 3 premiered. From the trailer and fan discussions online, it is well-known that it will focus on the Monster Association. Garou will be a key figure this season. He will undergo significant development in the Monster Association arc.
With expectations and speculations filling up the One Punch Man fandom, Season 3, Episode 2 revealed something major about the leader of the Monster Association, Lord Orochi. This fact may be flustering. Lord Orochi was once a human. He transformed into a devilish-looking, all-powerful leader of the Monster Association.
Gyoro-Gyoro Is The True Mastermind Behind Lord Orochi’s Rise
In One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 2, a conversation between Gyoro-Gyoro and Phoenix Man revealed Lord Orochi’s past and how he became such a menacing character. While talking about Garou, Gyoro-Gyoro revealed that she was the one who created Lord Orochi. It was a strenuous procedure for both her and the Monster Association Leader.
Lord Orochi was a genius martial artist who, for some unknown reason, had given up on humanity. One day, Lord Orochi encountered Gyoro-Gyoro, and the latter persuaded the former to join her cause. Then Gyoro-Gyoro used a special “growth” stimulating process, details of which are yet to be revealed.
Lord Orochi was put through multiple near-death situations consecutively. With failures and sacrifices lining up one after the other, until the experiment started to show results. Lord Orochi’s human appearance started to change, and soon enough, he turned into a monster. It took time for him to reach his abysmal height and devilish look. Gyoro-Gyoro used her psychic abilities to tame Lord Orochi’s mind, causing it to be submissive to her.
Gyoro-Gyoro’s True Identity Is Unknown To The Monster Association
Gyoro-Gyoro is a monster who leads the Monster Association alongside Lord Orochi. While everyone thinks Lord Orochi to be the omnipotent one, it is actually Gyoro-Gyoro who possesses inhuman abilities. However, the monster likes to keep its identity hidden. Gyoro-Gyoro is just the name and the outer shell, its real name is Psykos.
As per the description in the One Punch Man manga, Psykos is a young woman with blue hair and green eyes. She is a human, wearing a pair of glasses. The reason behind her becoming the leader of the Monster Association is her scientific curiosity, cunning, sadistic, and arrogant personality. She and Fubuki were close friends, but the latter left her when Psykos asked her to join her in the quest to destroy humanity. It caused her to hold a massive grudge against the heroes and later form the Monster Association.

Psykos Is A God Gifted Esper
Psykos is a powerful esper, rivaling Tatsumaki. She became more potent after “God” granted her more powers. Her abilities include psychokinesis, gravity manipulation, energy projectile, spy drones, telepathy, clairvoyance, etc. Her abilities are surprisingly more potent than those of an average esper. This allows her to control the monsters from 1500 meters below ground level.
Apart from these abilities, Psykos is an intellectual being and has great willpower. Being a master psychic combatant, she can immobilize targets using Psychic Binding and increase gravity using Super Gravity Waves to crush her enemies. To gain a momentary elevation in powers and abilities, Psykos carries a bottle of elixir, which she created. Consuming it makes her almost invincible.
Gyoro-Gyoro Wishes To Create The Second Lord Orochi
With Lord Orochi, Gyoro-Gyoro has already seen the face of success. Currently, she aims to create another all-powerful monster like him, with Garou being the one in her mind. She told Phoenix Man that she plans to make Garou go through the same rigorous special “growth” stimulating process to see whether he can live up to the hype. It is a trial-and-error method, and if Garou succeeds, she will proceed to the next phase. Otherwise, Gyoro-Gyoro will find the next specimen to experiment on. As a result, she sent Insect God and King the Ripper to test Garou.
