The last few chapters of Kagurabachi have extensively focused on Chihiro Rokuhira and the Masumi trying to protect Iori Samura from the bloodthirsty Hishaku. Chapter 67 featured Hiruhiko annihilating Kyoto Bloodshed Hotelโ€™s manager, Sengoku. With Hiruhiko having found Iori, Chihiro had no option but to challenge him to a battle.

Kagurabachi chapter 68 featured the continuation of the battle, with Chihiro finally picking up Hiruhikoโ€™s sword technique. However, the biggest plot twist came in the latest chapter. Iori Samura, Seiichi Samuraโ€™s daughter, awakened her inner swordsman and took on an entire horde of brainwashed individuals coming after her.

What Happened In Kagurabachi Chapter 69?

Kagurabachi chapter 69, titled โ€œThe Guy with the Scar,โ€ began with Iori Samura getting escorted to the rooftop of the Kyoto Bloodshed Hotel by the Masumi. She wanted to go back to her initial self, where she was just a normal kid without any connection to her father, Seiichi Samura. However, before performing the ritual to seal her current memories, the group was attacked by a horde of brainwashed people.

The Hishaku were the reason behind the attack, and their motive was to take away Iori Samura. Elsewhere, it is shown that one of Ioriโ€™s classmates, Ikura, reached the hotel to help her. Ikura was the least popular kid in school, but Iori still befriended him. So, he was willing to do anything to save her.

On his way to Iori, Ikura met Chihiro, who handed him a key required to perform the ritual. He boarded the elevator and reached the rooftop. However, as soon as he got down, he was surrounded by the brainwashed people. Before anyone could land a blow on him, Iori Samura blocked the swords.

Iori Samura Has Awakened

Kagurabachi chapter 69 featured one of the most interesting plot twists. At the end of the chapter, when Ikura is about to be killed by the enemies, Iori Samura comes to his aid. It came as a shock to many watching her wield a sword to protect her friend. However, watching Ikura about to get slayed caused her to break her inner shackles and truly awaken as Seiichi Samuraโ€™s daughter.

She has no memory of her father but of her memories being sealed away. Even though she got mixed with the underworld, she still wished to go back to her regular life and not see anyone getting hurt because of her. When one of her school friends came to protect her, take her hand, and help her decide which path she should choose, she could not contain herself.

The desire to protect an ordinary life helped her to awaken as the daughter of Seiichi Samura. However, it is still not clear what the extent of her abilities is. Since her memories of him were sealed, the incident helped to get rid of the seal and might have caused her to remember some swordsmanship that she learned from her father before the sealing happened. The way she held the sword one-handed shows her skill as a knowledgeable swordsman.
