Takeru Hokazono’s three favorite manga are My Hero Academia, Naruto, and Jujutsu Kaisen. In a recent interview featuring Kohei Horikoshi and Takeru Hokazono, the Kagurabachi creator was asked what he thought about My Hero Academia when he read it for the first time.

Takeru Hokazono explained that the first time he read My Hero Academia was during his high school years. He was recommended the manga by a friend and remembered telling his friend that it was “interesting.” Hokazono also recollected that the story at the time was about to conclude the U.A. With that, Hokazono revealed that, at the time, he wasn’t drawing manga. He simply enjoyed the story and skill of the illustrations. While Takeru Hokazono loved My Hero Academia, Kohei Horikoshi refused to believe that. According to him, as Kagurabachi was heavily influenced by Naruto in terms of style, there was no way Hokazono liked his manga.

Apparently, this was an ongoing exchange between the two creators as Horikoshi could never believe that Hokazono liked his series that much. However, as shared by the Kagurabachi creator, he loved My Hero Academia.
