One of the best anime of Summer 2024, The Elusive Samurai is a story about the protagonist Tokiyuki Hojo’s survival during the coup d’etat of Kamakura shogunate and reclaiming it in the future has managed to get the attention of the Kagurabachi manga creator, Takeru Hokazono. In a recent comment, Takeru Hokazono praised CloverWorks’ The Elusive Samurai episode 9, where Tokiyuki with his retainers pulled off a victory against fearsome opponents in a well-illustrated action-packed sequence, setting him on a path of reclaiming Kamakura shogunate.

Fans on social media are pumped after the author’s comment and are speculating that CloverWorks studio will be handling the anime adaptation of the award-winning manga of 2024, Kagurabachi. CloverWorks studio is best known for the animes like Bocchi the Rock, Wind Breaker, and Spy x Family.

Shueisha’s Trademark Application for Kagurabachi
According to the website, Chizai-Watch, Shueisha legally filed for the Trademark of Kagurabachi in December 2023 under various classes. Out of several classes, Class 41 covers education, entertainment, sports, cultural activities, and writing services. Therefore, the anime adaptation is confirmed but the studio behind it will be revealed later.
Moreover, Shueisha has filed for several trademarks in the past but it took 3 to 4 years for them to be adapted into an anime series or movie.

Kagurabachi’s Hype
Takeru Hokazono’s manga Kagurabachi started serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in September 2023 and within a few months of serialization, it gained a lot of popularity around the world and grabbed fan favorite newcomer at Anime Expo 2024. Also, it won the Next Manga Awards 2024 under the print manga category.
And who doesn’t love a sword-wielding protagonist with a haunting past and driven to take revenge with some added sorcery.
