Yasuhisa Hara’s Kingdom has earned worldwide fame since it was first serialized in January 2006 under Shueisha’s Weekly Shounen Jump. The popular manga was adapted into an anime in June 2012 and has been released in five seasons until now. The latest announcement revealed that Kingdom Season 6 is under production, with October 2025 being the tentative release window of the anime.
A new teaser visual was released with “The Inheritor of Qi Wang’s Spear” written on it. Studio Pierrot, known for Naruto and Bleach, has been the constant for Kingdom, but the anime has toggled between several other animation studios. Along with Studio Pierrot, IKIF+ was involved during Seasons 1 and 2, and from Season 3 to Season 5, Studio Signpost collaborated with Pierrot. As of now, Kingdom has 142 episodes, with season five having the least number of episodes, 13.
What happened in Kingdom Season 5?
Kingdom Season 5 saw Qin putting an end to Ai’s rebellion and setting his eyes on Koku You Hill. General Kan Ki is assigned to be the Commander in Chief, and Xin is put under him. With Koku You Hills being a crucial area for Qin and Zhao, the latter also assigned an army to fend off the former’s attacks.
A war breaks out between the two kingdoms, with Xin killing Kei Sha, the closest to the Three Great Heavens’ seat, on the fourth day. After Ki Sui’s past was revealed due to the interrogation by the Saki Clan, Kan Ki burned the villages and captured the villagers of Koku You to intimidate Ki Sui. However, Ki Sui had already run away to his family, with the army chasing him. Ultimately, it was Ki Sui’s actions that led to the defeat of Zhao.
What Will Happen In Kingdom Season 6?
Kingdom Season 5 covered the Koku You Campaign arc, and Episode 13 saw the beginning of the Bureaucrats Job arc. Kingdom Season 6 will continue with the Bureaucrats Job arc and then shift to the 18th arc of the manga, which is the Western Zhao Invasion arc. It will feature the war between the Zhao and the Qin kingdoms. The protagonist, Xin, will be seen fighting with the legendary spear of Wang Yi, which is featured on the teaser visual. His handling of the legendary spear means that he has become mature enough to tackle more power and responsibility.

Who All Are Involved With Kingdom Season 6?
The main cast is expected to return, but the director has yet to be finalized. Kenichi Iwaizumi directed seasons 3 and 5, so there is a chance he might return. However, at this point, everything is speculation. Until further announcements, nothing can be said for certain.
