The Next Manga Awards, established in 2014 by Kadokawa Group’s Da Vinci magazine and the Niconico streaming website, is an annual event that celebrates emerging manga series based on fan votes and nominations. Here’s everything you need to know about the 2024 edition.

- Submission Period: May 9th to May 23rd, 2024
- Voting Period: June 21st to July 8th, 2024
- Winners Announcement: August 28th, 2024
Next Manga Awards Categories
Print Manga
- Criteria: Titles serialized in Japanese print magazines with no more than five volumes released or that started serialization after January 1, 2023.
Web Manga
- Criteria: Titles serialized on Japanese web platforms with similar volume and serialization date requirements as the Print Manga category.

- 1st Place: There is Also a Hole in the Student Organization! by Muchimaro
- 2nd Place: Daemons of the Shadow Realm by Hiromu Arakawa
- 3rd Place: The Ichinose Family’s Deadly Sins by Taizan 5
Web Manga
- 1st Place: The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn’t a Guy At All by Sumiko Arai
- 2nd Place: Neko Oji: The Guy That Got Reincarnated as a Cat by Yajima
- 3rd Place: Kindergarten WARS by You Chiba
Voting and Results
Fans can vote for up to three titles in each category until July 8th, 2024. Judges will tally the results and announce the winners on August 28th, 2024. This year’s global voting process has 100 titles.

There are a total of 40 manga in the Print Manga category and 60 manga in the Web Manga category, but some of them really stand out.

- Kagurabachi by Takeru Hokazono
- Versus by ONE (creator of One-Punch Man)
- Dogsred by Satoru Noda (creator of Golden Kamuy)
Web Manga
- RuriDragon by Masaoki Shindo
- Shinanonchi no Ikuru (winner of AnimeJapan’s “Manga We Want To See Animated” poll for 2024)
Many more titles are competing to follow in the footsteps of previous winners like There is Also a Hole in the Student Organization! and The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn’t a Guy At All.

To vote, you can visit the Next Manga Awards website and cast your votes in both categories (NOTE: Each person may vote once for up to three titles in each category).
