Whether you are a One Piece fan or a newcomer, have you ever wondered about living and experiencing life in the same world as the Straw Hats? A fan reaction to the question would be – huh! I have dreamt countless times and even lived as Nami’s Clima-Tact in one of my dream sequences. Well, the One Piece team is bringing a special episode titled ONE PIECE FAN LETTER, covering short stories from an ordinary person’s perspective to celebrate ONE PIECE 25th Anniversary on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at 09:30 am.
ONE PIECE FAN LETTER will cover stories from Tomohito Ohsaki’s novel Straw Hat Stories, which explores the perspectives of ordinary people living in the world of One Piece. This unique installment is directed by Megumi Ishitani, the script by Momoka Toyoda and Keisuke Mori handles the character designs and animation direction.
A teaser trailer and a visual have been released, showcasing the ONE PIECE FAN LETTER special episode preview. The teaser visual features a young girl staring at a wall of wanted posters of the Straw Hats and the trailer stitches scenes from the adventures of a young girl in the One Piece world.
One Piece 25th Anniversary: Straw Hats Stories Novel by Tomohito Ohsaki
Straw Hats Stories is a collection of nine short stories written by Tomohito Ohsaki. ONE PIECE FAN LETTER will cover several stories from the novel:
- A Marine inspired by Luffy’s attempt to save his elder brother, Ace, during the Paramount War in the Marineford arc.
- Zoro’s argument with the three marine soldiers in a bar, over who is the best swordsman after Doflamingo’s defeat in Dressrosa arc.
- A young man’s transformation after encountering Nami during Straw Hats reunion on Sabaody Archipelago after the time skip.
- A man’s learning from the relationship of Kaya and Usopp in the Syrup Village.
- A girl’s experience at Baratie who is looking to enquire and meet Sanji.
- A Marine captain’s obsession with Cotton Candy Chopper’s cuteness.
- A girl from Baltigo inspired by Nico Robin to become an archaelogist.
- A bookstore clerk struggles to adapt to her new life in Water 7 and gets inspired by Franky’s adventures.
- A child’s attempt to pirate Soul King’s concert on Sabaody Archipelago.
While One Piece has long focused on the adventures of Straw Hat and the crew, One Piece 25th anniversary special offers a fresh take on how the pirate crew is viewed by people they have touched along their journey.
