It has only been six months since the One Piece anime returned after a six-month hiatus, and now it will again be on a break for a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, the One Piece fandom wonโt be able to experience the Egghead Island arc in the first two weeks of October due to the break. Unlike the six-month hiatus, this break wonโt be for maintenance. While the first week is officially a break, the second will see a recap of one of the episodes. On September 28, 2025, episode 1145 of One Piece will be released before it resumes again on October 19.
Why Is One Piece Anime Taking A Break?
The franchise has not explicitly revealed the reason behind the break, but the fandom is speculating one of the two things that could be a probable reason. The first reason is that the anime is catching up to the manga, which is a well-known factor since each episode covers 2.5-4 chapters on average. The second reason is more interesting since it involves improving the animation.
With the Gorosei and the giants having arrived on Egghead, the upcoming battle will be on a larger scale, and there will be tons of characters showcasing their Haki. Also, these animations are speculated to be top-notch, similar to Aokiji vs. Garp and King vs. Zoro. To achieve such high quality, the animators need significant time, which might be a reason for a break.
A Recap Episode Will Be Featured
On October 5, 2025, there will be no One Piece episode, but on October 12, 2025, a recap episode will broadcast. The recap episode will feature CP0, who has had quite a bit of screen time since the Reverie arc. It is a special one-episode recap, and its content remains unknown. CP0 had a major role in Wano and Egghead, and the episode might provide more insights into them.

The Announcement Came As A Shock To The Fans
