One Piece anime currently features the backstory of Bartholomew Kuma and Jewelry Bonney. The last episode featured the start of Kumaโ€™s tragic life as he had to witness his fatherโ€™s death just because they were from the Buccaneer clan. Kuma was bound to be a slave for the Celestial Dragons forever until the God Valley incident happened.

One Piece Episode 1130 featured the God Valley incident, in which multiple powerhouses came face-to-face with each other, creating the most iconic incident in One Piece history. However, it was also the time when Kuma and Kaido acquired their Devil Fruit abilities thanks to their allies. The latest episode showcased the scenario of how they got the Devil Fruits.

Kaidoโ€™s Uo Uo No Mi Was Given To Him By Big Mom

During the God Valley incident, Marines, Pirates, and the Holy Knights came together to cause the biggest war. The Rocks Pirates, consisting of Kaido, Big Mom, Whitebeard, etc., along with their captain, Rocks D. Xebec, had to battle the Roger Pirates and the Marines led by Vice Admiral Monkey D. Garp, turning it into a battle royale.

On the same day, there was supposed to be a tournament held by the Celestial Dragons, where people with the most kills would receive a special prize. There were six prizes in total, and one of them happened to be the Uo Uo No Mi. Due to a war breaking out, Big Mom had the chance to steal the Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit and later gave it to Kaido. Thanks to that Devil Fruit, Kaido gained massive powers and started a crew of his own, reaching the rank of Yonko.

Emporio Ivankov Is The Reason Why Bartholomew Kuma Has The Nikyu-Nikyu No Mi

Bartholomew Kuma, Ginny, and Emporio Ivankov happened to be the slaves during the God Valley incident, who were destined to be killed for entertainment purposes during the tournament organized by the Celestial Dragons. However, thanks to the Rocks Pirates, everything was ruined. Emporio Ivankov got his hands on one of the prizes of the tournament, and likewise, one of them was the Nikyu-Nikyu no Mi. Even though Kuma was unwilling to consume it, the situation forced him as he had to save his friends. Fortunately, it turned out for the best as he saved the Straw Hats from Kizaru during the Sabaody Archipelago.
