AnimeJapan 2025 saw One Piece publicly announce its return on April 5, 2025. After a six-month hiatus, the anime will continue featuring the Egghead arc from the point it left. Apart from the main announcement, there was another announcement regarding a spinoff series of Eiichiro Oda’s magnum opus.
The spinoff series, titled Koisuru One Piece, popular as One Piece in Love, is a romantic comedy written by Daiki Ihara. It was first serialized on June 18, 2018. By the time its serialization was suspended in November 2021, Koisuru One Piece had released 141 chapters along with 32 extras, all compiled into 9 volumes. The series was published by Shueisha through the Shonen Jump+ magazine.
Koisuru One Piece Release Date, Time and Where to Watch
As per the information revealed during AnimeJapan 2025, Koisuru One Piece will be released on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 20:00 JST. For five days, from April 1 to April 5, anime shorts will be released daily, and fans will be able to stream them on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.
Koisuru One Piece Synopsis
The gag manga revolves around three high school students, Yamamoto Luffy, Koyama Nami, and Nakatsugawa Usopp, who have names similar to the Straw Hat Pirates and form a One Piece fan club. Nami is in love with Luffy, while Usopp is a third wheel and recruits Luffy to become the captain of the Pirate Club. Their lives revolve around One Piece, and every new chapter of the story is a parody of the original series.

The One Piece event during AnimeJapan 2025 revealed the staff and voice actors of Koisuru One Piece. The Opening Theme and Ending Theme are yet to be announced. Even though there are multiple characters with reference to the original story, only the three main characters’ voice actors have been confirmed. They are as follows:
