Masaoki Shindoโs RuriDragon has gone on another hiatus, but instead of an indefinite one, it is a two-month hiatus. The mangaka created a one-shot manga named RuriDragon, which was published in Shueishaโs Jump Giga magazine on December 28, 2020. It was thought to be the end of it, but a couple of years later, on June 13, 2022, the manga began its serialization under the Weekly Shonen Jump due to its immense popularity. The manga even earned a second spot at the prestigious 2024 Next Manga Awards, under the Web Manga category.
The manga has more than a million copies, both physical and digital, circulating worldwide. While everything was going okay, the manga abruptly came to a halt due to the mangakaโs deteriorating health. On July 24, 2022, RuriDragon Chapter 6 was released, and Chapter 7 was released on March 3, 2024. The manga has 34 chapters as of now, but it does not follow any pattern with its releases. After coming back from the indefinite hiatus, it followed a weekly release, but it changed later. Now, the manga is again going on a hiatus.

Fans Wonโt Get Any RuriDragon Chapters For 2 Months
It was common knowledge among the fandom that Masaoki Shindoโs health was one of the reasons for RuriDragonโs slow progress. It had once delayed the manga for 2 years, with the fans almost losing hope regarding its return. Now, with the two-month hiatus, they are having second thoughts about it since there is no guarantee that it will return within the stipulated time, with the time period being subject to change. In July 2022, it was initially a two-week hiatus, but later, it turned out to be an indefinite one.
The exact reason for the hiatus remains unknown, with people speculating that it might be related to the mangakaโs health since it was the mangaka who posted the news on his social media handle. RuriDragon manga is scheduled to resume in July, and the fans are hoping that they wonโt have to wait for a couple of years to see Ruri using her abilities. Currently, the manga has only three volumes, with chapters 21 to 34 not yet adapted into a tankobon format.

What Is The Story Of RuriDragon?
An average high school student, Ruri Aoki, got the surprise of her life when she found that there were horns growing out of his head. Puzzled at the sight of the horns, she went to her mother to enquire about them. Her mother replied that it was natural since Ruri was a half-dragon.
Even with the shocking revelation, Ruri tried to live her life normally and went to school. It was not long before her friends, her homeroom teacher, and the entire school took notice of her horns and started to explore them by looking, touching, and taking selfies with them. Ruri Aoki understood that normality for her was on the verge of extinction, with things taking a more chaotic turn for her.
