A commemorative live-action short film “SAKAMOTO DAYS ONE DAY” was released on Shueisha’s official Shonen Jump YouTube channel to celebrate the release of Volume 18 of โSakamoto Daysโ Manga.
The story of the skit takes place at the “Sakamoto store” in a world different from the original manga. The story is based upon the idea of extraordinary action in everyday life hidden in plain sight. The video presents the world of ‘Sakamoto Days’ where the store clerk fights the assassin while a high school girl shops in the background.
Saori Izawa known for her work in Baby Assassins, John Wick: Chapter 4, stars in the short film directed by Daiki Kamoshita, and Takashi Tanimoto handles the action sequences.
Congratulations on the release of the 18th volume! Filming while wearing the green staff apron of Sakamoto Store and performing action scenes in a convenience store was incredibly fun. I felt like I was working part-time at Sakamoto Store for a day, aspiring to be as cool as Mr. Sakamoto in utilizing the things around him. I hope everyone enjoys the subtle thrill of the extraordinary hidden within everyday life. As a fan, I am also looking forward to the TV anime airing in January next year!

Sakamoto Days is an original Japanese manga by Yuto Suzuki, serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since November 21, 2020.
Sakamoto Days is set to receive an anime adaptation in January 2025. The TV anime adaptation is directed by Masaki Watanabe and written by Taku Kishimoto. The studio behind the series is TMS Entertainment and it is licensed to be streamed by Netflix. It will originally air on TV Tokyo.
