Sakamoto Days has become one of the most popular manga in the genre. The mixture of comedy and action had millions of people drooling over it. No one wants to miss the story about the ‘Greatest Hitman of all time.’ Yuto Suzuki began the serialization of the manga on November 21, 2020, and up till now, the manga has released 196 chapters.
After featuring the main story for quite some time, the mangaka has delved into the past of Taro Sakamoto and Shin Asakura. Chapter 195 ended with the first meeting of Sakamoto and Shin, and Chapter 196 featured how they became a pair. Even though the protagonist duo has always been together in the manga, Sakamoto Days chapter 197 will show the first time they partnered up.

Sakamoto Days chapter 197 will be released on January 19, 2025, at 8:30 PM, IST. The release day is Sunday, and the fans can read it on Viz Media or Shueisha’s Manga Plus. The chapter will be a continuation of the story that commenced in the previous chapter, featuring the first meeting of the two protagonists.
Taro & Shin’s First Partnership
Sakamoto and Shin have been working together from the very first chapter. However, Sakamoto Days chapter 197 will feature them teaming up before they knew each other. In the first chapter, Shin is 20 years old, while Sakamoto is 27 years old. Chapter 197 will feature a 13-year-old Shin and a 19-year-old Sakamoto.
Sakamoto Days Chapter 197 Set Up and Expectations
Taro Sakamoto was a member of The Order and infiltrated an organization to attain information on a former JAA researcher, Tasuku Ando. Coincidentally, the same person is revealed to be Shin’s father, who left him at the lab. After the organization beats up Shin, Sakamoto makes it look as if Shin is dead. He volunteered to dispose of his body. Later, he took the body to a safe space. After Shin woke up, he advised him to go to the cops.
However, Shin wanted to look for his father. One thing led to another, and the 13-year-old again found himself in danger, only to be saved by Sakamoto. After they exchanged a few words, it came to light that both of them were looking for the same person. Together, they set out on a journey to find the person who connects them both.
