Solo Leveling Season 2: Arise from the Shadow episode 8 featured Sung Jinwoo completing the Demon Castle raid by eliminating Demon Monarch Baran. The fight was quite intense and pushed the protagonist to his edge. However, thanks to a moment of distraction by Esil Radiru, Jinwoo successfully decapitated Baran, attaining victory.
While Sung Jinwoo vs. Baran was the focus of Solo Leveling Season 2 Episode 8, another situation was raised in the episode. The episode also featured the Hunter’s Association of Korea collaborating with the largest guild in Japan, Drawn Sword Guild, to announce the Fourth Raid on Jeju Island officially.
What is the Jeju Island Raid Mission?
It has been a few episodes since the Chimera Ants were introduced in Solo Leveling. The latest episode showed a full-blown attack by the Chimera Ants. They were attacking people mercilessly and feeding on them. The ants seemed to be coming from Jeju Island, which is located 120 kilometers from the place of their latest rampage.
It has been some time since the Chimera Ants have made their presence known. There have been three separate incidents when raids were issued against the Ants on Jeju Island. However, all three of them failed, leading to Go Gunhee issuing a fourth raid. This time, they will be joining forces with the Drawn Sword Guild from Japan, which has a total of 11 S-Rank Hunters.
Like Korea, Japan is one of the closest countries to the island, and that is why they agreed to join the mission to ensure safety. Together, they will raid Jeju Island to erase the remaining Ants along with the Mother Ant. Since the point of action was Jeju Island, the raid came to be known as the Jeju Island Raid Mission.
How Powerful are the Chimera Ants in Solo Leveling?
Solo Leveling Season 2 Episode 8 also featured a detailed autopsy report of one ant that was killed by an A-Rank Hunter. However, before getting slain, the ant had killed multiple humans, including a few low-level Hunters. As per the reports, the ants are currently on par with an A-Rank Hunter. They tend to go after strong people or high-level hunters. The ants live only for a year after they hatch, and they grow at an exponential rate.
How Do The Hunters Plan To Execute The Jeju Island Raid Mission?
The Guildmaster of the Drawn Sword Guild, Goto Ryuji, devised a plan to use the Chimera Ants’ strength against them. Out of the eleven S-Rank Hunters in their guild, ten of them would join the raid. Their main focus would be to be in a group and attract the ants to them. It would isolate the Mother Ant from them. Using that opportunity, the Korean S-Rank Hunters would kill the Mother Ant and complete the mission.
