The deal is part of Toho’s grand “TOHO VISION 2032” plan to become a global entertainment powerhouse by investing in animation, digital tech, and international outreach over the next decade. This sounds ambitious, but Toho’s got the receipts!

With Science SARU as its new subsidiary, Toho is gearing up to produce top-tier animated content for audiences in Japan and beyond. Furthermore, the indie studio will keep operating independently for now as Toho provides resources to double down on its unique, award-winning style.
