Anime Expo 2025 returns to the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California, from July 3 to July 6, 2025, offering four action-packed days dedicated to anime, cosplay, gaming, and Japanese pop culture.
Kicking off with a high-energy Opening Ceremony, the event will host some of the biggest names in the industry, including voice actors, directors, and studio representatives. To gain access to the event, one can visit the official site and click on the registration button. The registration site will remain online from July 3, 2025, at 9 AM, to Sunday, July 6, 2025, at 5 PM (PDT). Here are the top 10 things that fans can go for during the event.
Events and Activities at Anime Expo 2025
1. AMV Competition
The Anime Expo AMV Competition is a fan-made anime music videos featuring various categories such as Drama, Action, Comedy, and AMTV-Pro. Both hard copies and digital submissions from creators are allowed. The stage provides a great opportunity for creator to showcase their talent to a large number of people. Unfortunately, there is no cash prize and the only thing they receive is public recognition. The event includes a pre-show featuring non-finalist entries, followed by the main screening where finalists compete, with winners revealed during the event. While the timing and ticket details are yet to be announced, the event will be taking place at The NOVO and on July 3, 2025.

2. Beer Garden
The Anime Expo Beer Garden will take place at the Peacock place in Los Angeles, California. The event will have a Japanese-inspired theme surrounded with paper lanterns and live music performances. People of all ages are allowed till 10 PM, but after that, only adult guests (21+) are allowed, and they need to have some valid ID to show. Operating hours are 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM from July 3–5, and 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on July 6. It’s the perfect spot to relax, enjoy great tunes, and soak in the vibes. 3. Concert
The J-POP SOUND CAPSULE concert has always been one of the most sought after events of the Anime Expo. Likewise, fans are expecting a lot from the event this year also, especially with all the popular artists that will be performing during the event. The artist list includes FLOW (Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, Code Geass), Hiroshi Kitadani (One Piece), TOGENASHI TOGEARI (inspired by Girls Band Cry, making their North American debut), GRANRODEO (Kuroko’s Basketball, Bungou Stray Dogs), and ASTERISM, who is popular for metal anime theme songs.
VIP passes at $175 (now sold out) included priority entry, a poster, and a Hi-Touch event. Orchestra A tickets are $145 (center section), and Orchestra B tickets are $130 (outer sections), with additional fees applicable. An Anime Expo 2025 badge is required for entry.

4. Cosplay gatherings
Anime Expo 2025 will host numerous cosplay gatherings from July 3–6 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Held at seven locations like Concourse Hall and Chick Hearn Court, these fan-led meetups offer photo ops and a chance to connect with fellow cosplayers in a respectful, community-managed setting. Cosplayers who inspire and promote inclusivity and positivity will be honoured through the Cosplay Senpai Program. Fans will get a chance to get educated about the world of cosplay through the ambassadors and cosplayers during panels, workshops and discussions. Popular cosplayers like Aicosu, NipahDUBS, VEGA Cosplay, Jahara Jayde, and UbersCosplay have been a part of the event. Unfortunately, this year’s line-up has not been revealed yet. The event usually takes place in the Entertainment Hall, with all the cosplayers present there.

5. Fashion Show
To celebrate the fashion culture of Japan in collaboration with the emerging models and authentic brands emerging from 2012, the Anime Expo 2025 brings the Fashion Show. There will be runaway presentations, designer and model meet sessions, photo and signature sessions and many more. There will be a special free 1-day badge and training from aspiring models. The 2024 show highlighted brands like BORO BORO and H.Naoto, with designers such as Hiroko Tokumine and RinRin Doll as MC. It’s a must-see for fashion fans and cosplayers alike.
6. Gaming
Anime Expo’s gaming area offers over 60 free-to-play stations with a variety of single and multiplayer games, open from 9 AM to 9 PM on July 3-5, and 9 AM to 3 PM on July 6. People who are more comfortable playing indoor games will be able to enjoy board and card games during the Tabletop Gaming event. They can either opt for competitive plays or go for casual games. The attendees will get to enjoy Japanese games and popular anime inspired challenges through various interactive game shows. These game shows will be full of entertainment and amazing prizes. Anime Expo 2025 provides a platform for gaming and entertainment irrespective of an individual being a seasoned gamer or not.

7. Masquerade
Anime Expo 2025 will celebrate cosplay craftmanship and performances during the AX Masquerade. The top cosplayers worldwide will be present and competing, in the hopes of winning exciting prizes. The AX Masquerades still attracts a large crowd even though the World Cosplay Summit USA Finals have been moved. The AX Masquerade will require tickets to enter.

8. JAMS@AX Academic Symposium
A proper discussion surrounding the social significance, cultural and historical impact of anime will take place at the JAMS@AX Academic Symposium. The event will feature multiple researchers and scholars becoming a part of the discussion and explore anime’s global impact through their scholarly lens.
9. Workshops
Workshops at Anime Expo 2025 offer hands-on learning experiences across various anime-related crafts. From art and animation to cosplay and voice acting, attendees can develop new skills with guidance from experts. These workshops cater to beginners and seasoned creators alike.
10. Anime Screenings/Announcements
There will be multiple anime announcements happening during the Anime Expo 2025. Here is a list of top five anime announcements.
- Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc: While the film is slated for a September release, exclusive previews or discussions may be featured at the expo.
- Kaiju No. 8 Season 2: A-1 Pictures unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming season, highlighting new challenges for protagonist Kafka.
- The Summer Hikaru Died: Netflix revealed a chilling trailer for this adaptation, set to stream exclusively on their platform.
- BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 4 – The Calamity: The info about the fourth season of Bleach will be revealed during the Anime Expo 2025.
- My Hero Academia Special Event: A special panel will be held with several voice actors from the anime, and a special message from Kohei Horikoshi himself. The event will take place on July 5, 2025, at 10 AM.
The Anime Expo 2025 will feature attendees participating is several activities like masquerade, gaming sessions, cosplays, etc., all while connecting with other people.
