Aniplex’s YouTube channel streamed the first 3 minutes and 44 seconds of the upcoming anime film ‘Trapezium’. The preview of the movie featured the theme song ‘Nanmonai‘ produced by MAISONdes featuring VTuber Hoshimachi Suisei and Sakuma.
Trapezium anime film is based on a novel with the same name, by Kazumi Takayama, who is a former 1st generation member of the Nogizaka46 idol group. Takayama wrote Trapezium while she was still an active Idol, crafting a coming-of-age story about a girl aiming to become an idol.
Based on her experiences and inner conflicts, the novel gained attention for its fresh and realistic style. Released in 2018, the book became a major hit, selling over 300,000 copies. Eventually, plans for an animated film adaptation were launched. Takayama contributed to the script and music, working with CloverWorks to reimagine Trapezium for the screen.
Trapezium Anime Film Story
It follows the story of Yu Higashi, a high school first-year student, who wants to become an Idol. To do so, she must impose 4 rules on herself: Do not use social media, Do not make a boyfriend, keep a low profile at school, and make friends with beautiful girls from North, South, East, and West.
With support from her collaborator, Shinji, Yu Higashi and the three girls embark on their path to stardom.
