The highly anticipated (almost every anime is highly anticipated) TV anime “Ubel Blatt,” based on the original work by Shiono Etorouji, is set to premiere in January 2025. The announcement was made on Ubel Blatt’s official X account, and it includes the release of the first key visual and promotional video (PV).

What Does รbel Blatt Mean?
“รbel Blatt” is a German phrase that roughly translates to “Evil Blade” or “Sublime Blades” in English. The story follows:
Two decades prior, to the timeline depicted in the manga, Koinzell, previously known as Ascheriit was a swordsman who gained renown as the Blatt Meister or “Blade Master ” for his exceptional swordsmanship. Selected by the Emperor of Szaalenden to join a group of fourteen warriors on a mission to vanquish the malevolent nation of Wischtech, known for its formidable arsenal and dark magic.
Armed with lances blessed by the Emperor himself the fourteen warriors ventured into enemy territory losing three comrades along the way due to the perils they faced. Seven of those remaining eleven warriors abandoned the quest out of fear of its dangers. Despite this setback, Ascheriit and three others determined to fulfill the Emperor’s task continued on and remarkably succeeded in their mission returning triumphant. However, upon their return home, the seven who had deserted earlier ambushed their comrades and massacred them. They falsely claimed that those they killed had betrayed them during the mission and were hailed as heroes for completing it after eliminating their supposed allies.
Thus they were celebrated as heroes known as the Seven Heroes while those they betrayed were labeled as symbols of treachery called Lances of Betrayal. The tale recounts Ascheriit’s journey, where he managed to endure the massacre and swore to seek vengeance, against his comrades who had become nobles and warlords revered as heroes by the populace.
