Gachiakuta Episode 4 revealed an interesting fact that seemed impossible as of now. It introduced never-before-seen Trash Beasts that were powered by Vital Instruments. With Rudo joining the Cleaners, Riyo Reaper took him on a mission to experience the event and see how the Cleaners handle things. Upon arrival at the point of action, the protagonists encountered several smaller Trash Beasts, and behind them was the massive one.
Riyo and Supporters quickly defeated the smaller ones. However, when she faced the massive Trash Beast, it was not going down even after Riyo used her Vital Instrument to slash it multiple times. Ultimately, it was defeated when Riyo penetrated it using her Vital Instrument and took out its core. To everyone’s surprise, they found that the core had a Vital Instrument and it was powering up the Trash Beast.

How could a Trash Beast contain a Vital Instrument?
Normal Trash Beasts are formed through Anima and can be defeated by Vital Instruments, which are also formed by Anima. Unfortunately, there is another type of Trash Beast known as Imitation Trash Beasts. These Imitation Trash Beasts are powered up by Vital Instruments and are stronger than the normal ones.
These Imitation Trash Beasts came into existence because of Zodyl Typhon, the leader of the Raiders Organization. He conducted several experiments to create artificial Watchman Series items, but all of them turned out to be failures. Later, he learned that those failed items could be used as cores, and once Vital Instruments were offered to them, those cores evolved into Imitation Trash Beasts.

How Are Imitation Trash Beasts Different From Normal Trash Beasts?
As mentioned earlier, Imitation Trash Beasts are stronger than normal Trash Beasts. While the latter can be defeated with a strong single slash using a Vital Instrument, the former cannot be defeated in the same manner. As shown during Gachiakuta Episode 4, one needs to get to its core and destroy it to defeat it. Simply slashing them won’t do it since the parts would automatically get reattached to the main body. There are multiple Imitation Trash Beasts out there, with the anime featuring only one of them until now.
