Yoichi Nagumo is one of the deadliest assassins in Sakamoto Days. He is a member of The Order and Taro Sakamoto’s classmate from his JCC days. Nagumo is an excellent assassin and specializes in copying others. When he portrayed himself as Sakamoto, even the most ardent fans could not distinguish between the two.
There’s much to discuss about the professional assassin, but one particularly intriguing detail stands out – Nagumo’s Tattoos. Nagumo has multiple tattoos on his body, but the one on his left neck adds a layer to his character. The tattoo’s design is of the Golden Ratio. The tattoo is an indication that whatever he portrays to be, is not his true self.

Yoichi Nagumo’s Golden Ratio Tattoo is inspired by the Golden Ratio, which is approximately 1.618. The figure is also known as the Fibonacci Spiral. Both the Golden Ratio and the Fibonacci Spiral are related to mathematics and are found in various natural phenomena, such as shell spirals, leaves, and galaxies. It is considered visually pleasing and aesthetic, as the sequence conveys a sense of natural beauty and balance across its surroundings.
While Yoichi Nagumo seems to bear an off-beat personality, often portraying a carefree attitude, the tattoo says otherwise. Beneath his laid-back character, he is quite methodical and takes calculated steps in every scenario. Even though he uses a dice to determine what weapon to use, he always thinks ahead, bringing harmony around him. He has a calm personality underneath, which helps him in channelling the balancing aspect of the Fibonacci sequence into his profession.

Yoichi Nagumo has multiple tattoos on his body, with most of them signifying the Golden Ratio and the Fibonacci Spiral. He has rectangular tattoos on both hands, with reference to the Golden Ratio. Then there is the formula of the Golden Ratio and values related to it tattooed on his right forearm and fingers, respectively. Apart from the mathematical significance, there are also a Swallow, one of Anton Chekov’s and Arthur Schopenhauer’s quotes, a reference to Christopher Nolan’s Memento film, a pair of hands from Michelangelo’s “The Creation of Adam,” etc. It goes without saying, Yoichi Nagumo may be an assassin, but he sure has done his research in academics.
