After much speculation, Solo Leveling Season 2: Arise from the Shadow premiered on January 4, 2025. Fans have been waiting for a long time to see Sung Jinwoo back in action. In December 2024, fans caught a glimpse of the first two episodes of the second season through Solo Leveling: ReAwakening. The first episode laid the foundation of the entire season. It showed that the upcoming episodes would be action-packed, and fans would barely have time to blink.
One of the fascinating things about season 2 is the entry of Ice Elves, otherwise known as Ice Slayers. They are not the only non-humans featured in the first episodes. There were also the Ice Bears and their leaders. With the introduction of the Ice Elves, fans have been asking who they are and how powerful they are in season 2.
Solo Leveling Season 2 Introduced The Ice Elves
Solo Leveling Season 2 Episode 1 saw Sung Jinwoo enter a C-level gate, which turned out to be a Red Gate. The team was teleported to a snow-covered forest. Within a few moments, an ice arrow killed one of the members. It was shown to be the doings of the Ice Elves. Ice Elves, as the name suggests, are a species of elves who belong to snowy environments.

They have a human-like physique but significantly differ when it comes to skin and hair. Unlike humans, they have blue-colored skin, white eyes, long and sharp ears, and snow-white hair. They are the underlings of the Frost Monarch, Sillad. They are quite cunning, and apart from using weapons, they also depend on their intellect.
Ice Elves’ Abilities and Battle Prowess
Ice Elves have human-like intellect and strategize before taking any steps. During the first episode of season two, they were hiding in a faraway tree and targeted the two weakest hunters. They use different kinds of weapons, mostly of which are bows, knives, and swords. They embed their weapons with ice magic.
They are quite strong and always stay in herds to avoid being outnumbered. Since they belong to the snowy lands, they know the terrain and use it to their advantage. The Ice Elves are stealthy, which gives them a greater advantage over weaker opponents. One of their many traits is to enjoy killing humans.
Will The Ice Elves Return?
As per Solo Leveling Season 2: Arise from the Shadow episode 1, the Ice Elves will return in episode 2. Only half of the arc has been completed. The next episode will feature Sung Jinwoo finally going against the Ice Elves and their leader. New Sung Jinwoo has left a mark on everyone, and so did the Ice Elves and Ice Bears.
