The Kito Family was introduced during the conclusion of Dan Da Dan Season 1. They were introduced as antagonists during the Cursed House Arc. They were a peculiar group with strange smiles on their faces, giving off eerie vibes. The upcoming season will feature them more closely, as the family is closely related to the Evil Eye. Unknown to many, the reason behind the birth of the Evil Eye was the Kito Family, especially their leader, Naki Kito.

What Is Kito Family’s Speciality?
The Kito Family members possess the ability to control, interact with, and exorcise curses and spirits. It is due to their lineage factor that makes them powerful spiritual mediums. As a result, all the members follow traditional occult practices and are regarded as one of the most influential families in Japan when it comes to dealing with supernatural forces. There are also a few prodigies in the family who are not only great mediums but also possess mystical or psychic abilities.
What Makes The Kito Family Evil?
The Kito Family is outright evil due to the fact that they sacrifice children to the Tsuchinoko. The Tsuchinoko is believed to be a Mongolian Death Worm, but much bigger in size, with sharp teeth and tentacles. To prevent it from destroying the village or causing volcanoes, the leader of the family, Naki Kito, began offering human sacrifices to the Tsuchinoko to keep it satisfied and protect the village.
She has been doing it for more than 200 years, and hides her true identity from others. She is an Unidentified Mysterious Animal, believed to be mythical or part of urban lore. The family has built a separate house where they lure families and offer them as sacrifices. It was during one such sacrifice that one of the children resurrected as a spirit and vowed revenge on the Kito. However, the rage and hatred towards the family changed and turned towards all of humanity. Ultimately, it led to the birth of the Evil Eye.

What Is The Significance Of The Kito Family?
Dan Da Dan is full of aliens and ghosts, but the Kito Family acts as a human counterpart to them. Even though they are evil, they do exorcise spirits and curses, providing a broader perspective to the anime rather than just focusing on Okarun and Momo. While the protagonists and the family have conflicts with each other regarding their methods, they still do their work. The latter is not a fan of modern methods and still relies on traditional ways.
It is impossible to predict how Dan Da Dan will turn out, but without a doubt, the Kito Family plays a significant role in making the story more interesting, creating a cold war between spiritualism and science. For them, family comes first, which is one of the reasons why they make human sacrifices. While it is still speculation, solving the problem with the Tsuchinoko might make them make them allies of the protagonists. However, as of now, they are one of the major antagonists of Dan Da Dan.
