Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle Part 1: Akaza Returns was released on July 18, 2025, and since then has become the biggest anime film of the year. As expected, it smashed multiple records on its opening day and collected 1.65 Billion Yen ($ 11.1 million) approximately. During its first weekend, it earned more than $ 37 million, making it the highest in the respective format.
As the movie is getting released in more countries, the numbers are increasing like anything. While many countries had cinematic experience, others want to know what the movie offers. As seen during Demon Slayer Season 4, all the Hashira and Upper Moon are trapped inside the Infinity Castle, and this raised curiosity regarding who will face whom in the movie. While Part 1 is named “Akaza Returns,” there are other Upper Moons who appear in the movie, and each faces a particular Hashira.
Shinobu Kochou Encounters Upper Moon Two Doma
The first part of the Infinity Castle movie features the fight between Insect Hashira Shinobu Kochou and Upper Moon Two Doma. The battle was a spectacular one, not only because of the flashy moves but also due to the emotional weight. While the Demon Slayers hate the demons, and vice versa, Shinobu bears a deep hatred for Doma. Doma killed Shinobu’s elder sister and former Flower Hashira, Kanae Kochou. Since then, the Insect Hashira has been preparing to face Upper Moon 2. Their battle is a highly anticipated one and will not disappoint the audience.
Zenitsu vs. Kaigaku – The Battle of The Thunder Students
Zenitsu Agatsuma and Kaigaku are the students of the former Thunder Hashira, Jigoro Kuwajima. While Kaigaku was more capable, Zenitsu was more kind-hearted. Unfortunately, Kaigaku was wicked and sly, and barely had any respect for others. When the news of his becoming a demon was revealed, Jigoro Kuwajima performed Seppuku. After learning about his sensei’s demise, Zenitsu’s personality changed, and he vowed to eradicate Kaigaku. As fate would have it, it is Zenitsu who faced Kaigaku, who is now Upper Moon Six. Fans will see that Zenitsu is in a completely new avatar, something they have been waiting for a long time.
Akaza vs. Giyu Tomioka and Tanjiro is the main attraction
Finally, the movie will feature Upper Moon Three Akaza taking on Water Hashira Giyu Tomioka and Tanjiro Kamado. The following battle is the main attraction of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle Part 1: Akaza Returns. Fans will get to see Akaza’s past and what kind of person he was. On the other hand, Giyu will unlock his Demon Slayer Mark, and Tanjiro will unlock a new ability. The battle will reveal why Akaza is one of the strongest Demons in the anime. Both parties will pour everything they have until nothing is left. It will be exhausting for the characters, but the audience will have a galore.
Upper Moon One Kokushibo also makes an appearance but he is yet to be seen in a fight.
