Loki, the Prince of Elbaph and the self-proclaimed Sun God, Nika. He is considered a curse to the land of the giants. Everyone believes that he was the one who murdered the former King, Harald. Possessing the bloodline of the ancient giants, Loki is massive, even by giant standards. His step-brother, Hajrudin, barely makes it up to his knees. The accursed prince was tied down in the underworld, and everyone revered him.
Up till now, that is what the One Piece manga showcased. However, after One Piece Chapter 1153โs release, the notion of Loki being evil might change. The first thing that the chapter cleared is why the supposed villain wears bandages over his eyes. Eiichiro Oda has started with another backstory, and this time, it is about King Harald and Prince Loki.
Loki Never Knew What Motherly Love Was
Following King Haraldโs journey that started in One Piece Chapter 1152, the latest One Piece Chapter revealed Prince Lokiโs birth. After King Harald had a child with Ida, the giants refused to allow him to marry her since she did not have a pure bloodline. Harald had to marry Estrid, who was from the Brewers Village and belonged to the pure bloodline. Together, they had a child named Loki. He was born when Harald was sailing on the seas.
When Estrid saw Loki, she was terrified, along with the other giants. His eyes were similar to those of demons, and at first glance, Estrid rejected him. She told everyone to tell King Harald that Loki was stillborn and to throw him into the underworld. Due to his eyes, Loki never knew what motherly love was, as he was abandoned from the moment he was born. As a result, Loki wore bandages around his eyes so that no one would witness his terrifying eyes.

A New Sad Backstory Will Take Place In One Piece
Loki, wearing bandages to cover his eyes, came much later in the story. While his eyes were the main reason behind his having a rough childhood, there was another reason why he was considered accursed and later became hated. Before he was born, there was a prophecy that Harald and Estridโs firstborn would murder the former. It was another reason why the Giants never took his side, even though he had it rough from day one. One Piece Chapter 1153 featured an injured and crying baby, Loki, trying to climb up the Underworld.
Lastly, every misfortune that falls on Elbaph is considered to be Lokiโs fault. People started calling it Lokiโs Curse. Not only did he not receive any parental love, but he was also revered by his people. Eiichiro Oda gave him enough reason to become a villain, but the upcoming chapters are likely to explore more about King Harald and his murder. There could be a twist at the end that could turn several heads. Also, Luffy has never recruited someone who was evil at heart. He offered Loki to join his crew, so maybe he also saw through Lokiโs heart and offered the love he wanted for so long.
