Kibutsuji Muzan is a name that every Demon Slayer fan is familiar with. He is the creator of all demons and one of the strongest characters in Koyoharu Gotougeโ€™s magnum opus. While most people might think why he is mentioned as โ€œone of the strongestโ€ rather than the strongest, there is another individual who made Muzan completely helpless. The man who made Muzan miserable was the legendary Yoriichi Tsugikuni, the progenitor of Breathing Styles and creator of the Fire Breathing Style.

The name Kibutsuji Muzan is enough to straighten out humans as well as demons, but even the thought of Yoriichi makes him tremble in fear. When Muzan first encountered Yoriichi, he was so overwhelmed that he split his body into 1800 pieces. Yoriichi could only destroy 1500 of those, and the Demon lord barely managed to escape with his life.

Legendary Yoriichi Was Just An Emotionless Child

Yoriichi Tsugikuni was born into an ordinary family and had a calm and composed personality. Yoriichi had an elder twin brother named Michikatsu Tsugikuni, who later became Upper Moon 1. He was always reserved and had a solemn look on his face, making people around him confused about what he was feeling or going through. Yoriichi always had a burnt/fire mark on his left forehead, which later came to be known as the Demon Slayer Mark.

As an adult, he wore an orange nagagi kimono and covered it with a red haori, with black hakama underneath, tied with white uwa-obi. However, the most notable feature of his looks was his hanafuda earrings. While Yoriichi was mostly emotionless, his wife, Uta, could understand what he was going through. Even when he was overjoyed at seeing Sumireโ€™s joy, his expressions remained unchanged, but tears started rolling down her eyes.

Yoriichi Tsugikuni Possessed Worldly Abilities

Yoriichi Tsugikuni was the strongest individual to ever set foot in the Demon Slayer universe. He was not just a physical specimen, but his abilities could mesmerize any friend, while frightening any foe. Through his Demon Slayer Mark, he could attain a selfless state, granting him access to his peak self. Yoriichi was a child prodigy and quite mature, which helped him develop into an intelligent being. He could turn his black Nichirin Blade bright red, negating the regeneration of demons for a few moments.

Being the progenitor of Breathing Styles, he was the one who used Sun Breathing Style, which was the most powerful Breathing Style and was the only one that could hurt Kibutsuji Muzan. Apart from that, Yoriichi Tsugikuniโ€™s physical prowess was unmatched, and he also had extrasensory perception. Be it reflexes, durability, or speed, there was no one who could rival him. Yoriichiโ€™s abilities easily make him one of the strongest anime characters ever, let alone Demon Slayer.
